You may have done well, yesterday, but you get major points taken off for butchering Smith-Njigba's name.

No discussion of the big game tonight? I put some money on Bama +2.5 and am playing fantasy on fanduel. All defense so far in the first quarter.

Not a fan of either team, or the SEC in general, but... Go Jawjuh!

I completely forgot about the game until my sis texted me. That was a hell of a second half. I told her at some point that "the only SEC team I would ever root for is GA."

I'm happy for them. I'm especially happy Bama lost. lol

    Congratulations Polmico.

^Thanks! Helluva game. (I had to watch it today because work is a thing.)
Stetson made a few too many stupid plays, but he came through big when he needed to. (Doesn’t hurt to have the special teams and defense come up big.)

When Stetson was destroying Michigan, I had more than a fleeting thought about him playing in the NFL. He’s a gutsy gunslinger and a winner.

But I think tonight’s (er, last night’s) game has dissuaded me of that. Still, I’d like to see him get a shot.

^ He's undersized, both height and slightness of build. Still, Kyler Murray is the same height, albeit 15 pounds heavier than Bennett, so I guess never say never, but... Buyer beware.

I think Jamison Williams injury in the 1st half ultimately put the nail in the coffin for Alabama. Their offense was not the same without him.

Made all the more important by having lost John Metchie III in the SEC Championship game.

Agree, not having the two of them made a huge difference in Bama's offense.

    I'm sure that's the case.

Otoh, my sister sent me this shortly after the game was over (bearing in mind that Wilson and Olave - two of OSU's three leading receivers - sat out the Rose Bowl due to the upcoming draft):

^Did Stroud and OSU face a defense nearly as good as UGA’s?

USC and UCLA join the Big 10. Can't see I saw that coming. What a strange football world we are moving into......

It's purely a TV money play. Rivalries will be gone, recruiting will suffer, and USC and UCLA are not the powerhouses they once were.

^ Riley may reverse that trend for USC.

UCLA has been a marginally successful football and basketball program for as long as I can remember (being that they're second fiddle to USC in recruiting) and that's in a conference that has been dominated by Northern teams in football for the longest time.

I wonder who'll join the PAC12 or will they go back to PAC10.

Just look what joining the SEC did for Texas and their recruiting.

The PAC 12/10 is about to become irrelevant. Toward the end of David Letterman's run on the Late Show, he was flummoxed by his Ball State being undefeated, but ranked lower than the powerhouse schools with at least 1 loss. It's like, Dude! Ball State is undefeated against powder puff schools. Now my own ASU, and neighboring UofA will face that same conundrum.
