New Therion - not safe for work

Wow, seems like the guys in Therion must have been snorting Spanish Fly lately or something, in coming up with or approving the art for their new album, Les Fleurs du Mal:

This one's pretty wild looking, but I can't seem to find a better version of it online. Don't know if this one and the one below are alternate covers, editions from different countries or what.:

Just a tad misogynistic, isn't it?
Music isn't about chops, or even about talent - it's about sound and the way that sound communicates to people. Mike Keneally

"Well you should have seen the cover they wanted to do. It wasn't a glove, believe me."

Anyone who has zero interest in Therion is more than welcome to ignore the thread. I thought it was kind of interesting that the band has gone from this:

to the images above in such a short time. I'm wondering if they've had a sudden shift in their sound, or just their image or what. I thought perhaps someone well versed in Therion, like Ken Golden, might be able to shed some light.

Actually, this new album seems kind of interesting, as it's a covers album, including the following songs:

1."Poupée de cire, poupée de son" - 2:51 Originally composed by Serge Gainsbourg and performed by France Gall

2."Une Fleur dans le cœur" - 3:03 Originally performed by Victoire Scott in 1968

3."Initials B.B." - 3:44 Originally composed and performed by Serge Gainsbourg, B.B is for Brigitte Bardot

4."Mon Amour, mon ami" - 4:35 Originally performed by Marie Laforêt

5."Polichinelle" - 2:28 Oiginally performed by France Gall

6."La Maritza" - 3:54 Originally performed by Sylvie Vartan

7."Sœur Angélique" - 3:05 Originally performed by Annie Philippe

8."Dis-moi poupée" - 3:24 Originally performed by Isabelle in 1967

    9."Lilith" - 2:30 Originally performed by Léonie

10."En Alabama" - 2:39 Originally performed by Léonie

11."Wahala Manitou" - 2:34 Originally performed by Léonie

12."Je n'ai besoin que de tendresse" - 2:14 Originally performed by Claire Dixon in 1967

    13."La Licorne d'or" - 2:45 Originally performed by Victoire Scott in 1968

14."J'ai le mal de toi" - 2:51 Originally performed by Betty Mars in 1974

15."Poupée de cire, poupée de son" - 2:31 Originally composed by Serge Gainsbourg and performed by France Gall

16."Les sucettes" - 2:40 Originally composed by Serge Gainsbourg and performed by France Gall in 1966

I just realized that Laser's Edge has had ads for this album on their site for a while now, they just hadn't registered with me. Too bad I didn't include this in my recent order - it sounds pretty interesting from what I'm reading...

Not sure I see it that way.

The images themselves could be interpreted several different ways.
And if there were a god, I think it very unlikely that he would have such an uneasy vanity as to be offended by those who doubt His existence - Russell
