    That's awesome!
Music isn't about chops, or even about talent - it's about sound and the way that sound communicates to people. Mike Keneally

What's the album he takes out first, and is the music real or just for the show?

That is quite a few years old. From Venture Bros., an all around excellent show. The music is imitation Yes as getting the rights to the real thing was difficult. The show is scored by J.G Thirlwell of Foetus.

David Bowie was a recurring character (not actually voiced by Bowie though)

Not to mention references to Iggy Pop and Klaus Nomi.

That reminds me of my artist daughter discovering Roger Dean and immediately hating Thomas Kincaid (famous boring calendar artist). The most recent season was once again excellent and so imaginative. I can't say I remember much of the show's score though, except for the title sequence.
