    torn between two countries

this year's Wimbledon women singles final again puts me into a dilemma I am occasionally faced with: do I root for the USA or do I root for Germany? having lived in both countries equally long right now makes me feel at home in both.

so while one half of me wants Serena Williams to win her 22nd grand slam the other half wants Angelique Kerber to win.

this will be a match of the currently best offensive player versus the currently best defensive player. Williams can fire cannon balls, but Kerber can run for and return balls that would be out of reach for anyone else and knows when to go for the counter-punch.

I think I will root for Kerber though. first of all she is the underdog, and second Germany is my home now, and I have no intention to leave, so from now on the majority of my lifespan will have been spent in Germany.

my prediction: Kerber will win in three sets, and it will be as exciting a match as it was in Melbourne
