    R.I.P. Rob Wasserman

    http://ww2.kqed.org/arts/2016/06/29/...spitalization/

Just hours after the Grateful Dead's Bob Weir posted asking for vibes for his hospital ridden friend, bassist Rob Wasserman passed away. Best known in the jam/Dead scene, Wasserman also played with Van Morrison, Rikki Lee Jones, Lou Reed & Metallica, Elvis Costello and more.

"One of the world's most beautiful friends and artists has left us. May Rob's warmth and music live in your hearts as it always has in mine." -Bob Weir
"Henry Cow always wanted to push itself, so sometimes we would write music that we couldn't actually play – I found that very encouraging." - Lindsay Cooper, 1998
"I have nothing to do with Endless River. Phew! This is not rocket science people, get a grip." - Roger Waters, 2014
"I'm a collector. And I've always just seemed to collect personalities." - David Bowie, 1973

    Rest in peace, Rob.
We're trying to build a monument to show that we were here
It won't be visible through the air
And there won't be any shade to cool the monument to prove that we were here. - Gene Parsons, 1973

Sorry to hear about this. I used to listen to Rob on David Grisman's early 80s albums. RIP

Damn, the Grim Reaper is seriously working overtime this year. I really enjoyed Rob's "Trios" album back in the '90s. This one was a real gem, with Brian and Carnie Wilson:

When you consider all these dudes were basically born at the same time and got popular at the same time, it's gonna be a deluge.
