    Hopeful ARW setlists

Within reason what would you like to hear?

It's obviously going to be a big split of 70s and 80s/early 90s material.

What would make for the best night of Yes music with this in mind?

I'm hoping for a non-traditonal set list. In that spirit, I would LOVE to hear Jon sing "Guinnevere," but I know better than to go out on such a limb. I always thought it would be cool to hear him sing that in his prime. To further the fantasy, it would be nice with Rick on piano of Trevor on acoustic guitar.

Biggest surprise would be to hear new music.. Otherwise I would expect a typical setlist that Trevor played with Yes.. 70's stuff will most likely be HOTS, Roundabout, AYAI, 80's stuff will most likely be OOALH, Changes and perhaps Hearts from 90125, Rhythm of Love and perhaps SHAL from Big Generator, Union stuff? maybe maybe not, and I suspect the largest portion of the evening will be stuff from Talk..

I think this is very likely. I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled out Endless Dream.

    What? No Teakbois? lol

If they do I'm Running though, I could be tempted to go if the remainder of the set is decent.

If Anderson felt the need to add vocals to Ponty pieces, how about Six Wives?

    Starship Trooper
    Roundabout
    Siberian Khatru
    Soon

With the official Yes out playing the warhorses, I expect ARW to dig deeper into the '70s catalog for some more obscure stuff. I'd love to hear Rabin's take on "Future Times/Rejoice," for example. And I know he wanted to play "Sweet Dreams" on one of the Yes tours.

As for the Rabin material, I expect to hear a whole lot of "Talk." I'd be thrilled to hear "Endless Dream."

It'd be nice to hear some "Magnification" cuts. "We Agree," "Give Love Each Day," "Dreamtime," "Spirit of Survival" -- any of those would be great.

Anything else would just be icing on the cake, really.

    Here's my prediction:

The set will break down pretty much 50/50 between 70s and 80s/90s with maybe a new song or two.

Of the 70s it'll be mostly greatest hits with perhaps a surprise or two, but I'd be surprised if they played any epics beyond "Close to the Edge". To me the 10 minute pieces are the likely max length ("And You And I", "YIND", etc.)

Of the 80s/90s it'll be at least 2-3 from 90125 and the rest scattered between BG, Union, and Talk. Maybe 1 each from those albums.

I'm curious how long the shows will last. Jon has done pretty well with the APB shows, but Rick isn't in his prime and Trevor hasn't toured since 1994.
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.

A song that none of them were a part of in the first place? That said, the current Yes played "Time and a Word" last year, and the same could be said there, but I think there's about as much chance of ARW playing something from "Drama" as from "Fly From Here".

Real good reason to stay home and skip this lol

    That was the goal!

But then again, you'd stay home for any list with Rabin in it.

Also, while an interesting game, coming up with a set list isn't easy since we don't know 0) how long the will play 1) if any new music 2) if they will play short versions like the ending of Nous Sommes Du Soleil.

I put "Does it Really Happen" since thought it would be interesting to see if they would play a Yes song that they didn't write.

I also put three songs from "Talk" since Anderson said to expect a lot from that album. I'd prefer OALH not played but unrealistic.

If I redid the 70s songs, I'd add "Heart of the Sunrise" "Yours Is No Disgrace," I've Seen All Good People" and "Wondrous Stories." Maybe the will only do the best known.

Think there's a good chance all/most of these end up in the setlist:

    Endless Dream
    I am Waiting
    Im Running
    The Calling

    Shoot High Aim Low
Love will find a way or Rhythm of Love

    Leave it
    Cinema
    Owner

    Heart of the Sunrise
    Trooper
    Roundabout

    Yours Is No Disgrace
    The Calling
    Hearts
    Wondrous Stories
    Changes
    And You and I
    Rhythm Of Love
    Close To The Edge excerpt
    Heart of the Sunrise
    Cinema
    Make It Easy/Owner
    Trevor Solo
    The Meeting
    I'm Waiting
    All Good People
    Jon Solo-Soon
    Rick Solo
    Awaken
    Roundabout

Not all are exactly what I'd choose, but these are my suspicions.

I'd just be happy to hear Jon sing HOTS and Awaken one last time...

Didn't Anderson mention Perpetual Change a while back...I'd be happy with that one.

As for stuff from the Rabin albums, I would LOVE for them to do "Shoot High, Aim Low." I've always loved that song. I think "The Calling" is a pretty cool song too.
    Got tickets for Nashville.

If you are asking what we hope would be played, that could be wildly different from what will be played.
For example, I could hope for RSOG, but would bet on The Calling.

I missed the "hope will be played" and tried to guess what might be.

I wouldn't want to hear Owner of a Lonely Heart or Changes when Leave It, Cinema and Hearts are better. I could do without I'm Waiting as well.
There is also no point in playing "solos" unless you want to call "Soon" and Anderson solo - that I'd like to hear. It isn't as if we can't hear Rabin and Wakeman's
    virtuosity within the songs.

Sean's list is what I hope doesn't happen...Rhythm of Love over Shoot High, Aim Low is a good example of "selection error."

By the way, Yes' summer set list is almost 2 hours.

I just don't see them playing anything ambitious from BG. They haven't since that tour.

If I could have my wish I'd love to see Shoot High or I'm Running, but I doubt they will do them.

Probably very close. Has lots in common with ABWH..solos leading to epics.

But no songs from Talk where Anderson implies two or three. Then again, if going by what you want to hear...
