Great news!
If its anything like their last album, then I'm probably going to bail. It just wasnt what I like about Kansas. I cant imagine them sounding like Kansas without the two voices that made Kansas sound like Kansas. Erheart has a very distinctive sound and style that I like, I never thought Dave Hope was all that special a bassist, so anyone can probably take his place. I just hope it is like Old Kansas and not post Monolith. Although I LOVE in the spirit of things. That for me was a return to great Kansas. Perhaps this too will be a great one, but at this point getting anything new out from the old bands is harder and harder, and harder still to enjoy.

Yes, listening again right now. It sounds to me like someone reached back into time, grabbed the late 70's era Kansas, brought them into 2016 and recorded them with current production techniques. Obviously whether someone likes the material is a personal preference, but after a few listens I'm impressed and can't imagine any Kansas fan will be disappointed.
John, did you submit any material to them? If so, did they use any of it?
^^^ Adiovisions? One of the all time worst. But I agree about the other covers.

Whatcha think???
Pretty exciting-sounding stuff. It definitely sounds like a Kansas album and I do like the fiery Hammond solos I heard. I think Kansas has downplayed those a lot after the mid-seventies; you can count the organ solos on one hand.
Platt sounds good and Ragsdale knows how to rock a violin. Looking forward to this!
"Arf." -- Frank Zappa, "Beauty Knows No Pain" (live version)
I found it pretty enticing musically. Vocally it kinda reminds me of Toto or something, but that'll work.

Sampler^^
I am surprisingly excited about this. This will be high on my list.
Listened to the samples on my phone. I like it. I'll get the album. Hopefully it's reasonably priced.
Once again, to my ears, a crappy snare sound - sounds like a cardboard box. That was my main complaint with their last album. The snare ought to sound like a snare drum, not a piece of plywood - although that might be an improvement. The singer sounds eerily like the guy who sang on "moment of clarity" - I cant recall the name of the band at the moment..
A nice bit of music, but not exactly what I would consider a "highlight". - You know, like "Carry on my Wayward son" or some part of a significant "hook"? Its like they chose a place where everyone was playing so no one would feel left out.
Please remix and give that snare a little character. (this is just my opinion.. so I reserve the right to change it when I hear the real thing...)
I dont recognize many of those guys. I like the one guy talking on his Cell Phone. - He's really interested in whats happening isnt he?

Rich Williams looks way different now. He looks like the old guy out fishing somewhere. Phil Ehart (the one who's talking on the phone; he and Rich are basically the bandleaders now, so he may have had more important business) has had his hair cut but he's recognizable to me.
