Anyone else grab Rob's latest Oldfield homage? It's pretty great... Almost like a Tubular Bells 6 if recorded in 1975.

I enjoyed the first but think this follow up is even better. Really strong themes throughout.
zzzzzzzz......
I'll buy it.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

Sounded very good on first listen. I really like the moments when a "full band" sound kicks in, if you know what I mean. Only had one listen - need to check out the 2nd CD with the alternate mix and the extra tracks.
I ordered it.
This year I have been slowing realizing what a talented lad Mr. Reed is. Kompendium has been spinning in my player a lot recently. His remake of the Hackett song "Spectral Mornings" was haunting (and for an excellent cause). Magenta CDs have been muscling out other bands on my play list.
Rob is indeed a talented chap. I'm still waiting for the new one to drop on the doormat, hopefully tomorrow. I await my first listen with eager anticipation.

...and I guess a new Magenta CD is on the horizon too.
I saw this on his Facebook page:
(May 2) Well.. Sanctuary II is done, ChimpanA II needs one more song...and a new MAGENTA album, long overdue, is sounding ACE!!!!!! ..
Full Disclosure: I do not "do" Facebook, but was able to see the page.
I watched the Youtube videos as was impressed. I don't hear Tubular Bells 6 so much as a blend of Hergest Ridge and Ommadawn.
As a side note for guitarists, it's interesting that he imitates Oldfield's characteristic guitar vibrato with the whammy bar rather than his left hand on the fret board.
