We had recently discussed "The Manchurian Candidate."

Well, it's on TCM Saturday night at 8:00 pm EST.

Either way guys, I found 'em. Wonder what Raymond Burr thought of the movie and his performance. Well, after Godzilla, who knows.

Return of the Invisible Man, I think ran the night before on another channel. If anyone has seen this, was it worth the time?

Burr played the heavy in tons of 50's noir and crime flics. Transitioned to TV's Perry Mason and made a fortune playing Ironside later on TV, they put him in a wheelchair for that role , because by that point he was indeed heavy and the sitting position was to hid his by now substantial bulk. To see him in his vicious prime check out his mob villain in His Kind Of Woman with R Mitchum. Seriously nasty.

Huh. Never heard of it. I'll have to look for it.

Hopefully it's prophetic regarding what Laurence Harvey does near the end.

To extreme , to disruptive and damaging to the republic. I'm totally into the next notch down solution though.
All kidding aside , it IS prophetic.

"King Kong" (1933 and still the best version) is on TCM Tuesday evening at 8:00 EST.

That's one I always watch when it's on, too.

It sure is. Wonder why it holds up even now? Watched White Heat Saturday night then got a real treat. Panic In Year Zero. Been decades since I last saw it. It's take on the aftermath from the bomb dropping I found to be quite interesting.

Great storytelling. Killer effects that still hold up. Virtually non-stop action. The B&W even adds to the charm.

Oh yeah, and Fay Wray's screams.

We could get Faye and the girl from House on Haunted Hill to do a duet. Janet Leigh could give it a litte bite. 5.1 would be awesome. Really strange to hear men screaming.

Actually, the two women from "The House on Haunted Hill." Yes, the main girl really brings it throughout the movie. But, when Vincent Price's wife lets loose in that final scene, she's effing wailing.

Ronmac, do we love this movie or what? How many times have we referenced it already? "She's so amusing".

I've loved it since I was a kid. I'm fine continuing to reference it.
