Gary Wright's 1972 solo album finally will be released

Ring of Changes, the album Gary Wright (Ex Spooky Tooth) recorded for A & M records in the early Seventies and was never released when he reformed Spooky Tooth, is set to be released finally in July. The album features his band, Wonderwheel, which includes guitarist Mick Jones and drummer Bryson Graham, that would accompany Wright in the reformed Spooky Tooth. It also features, in a couple of songs, George Harrison, with whom Wright collaborated for years.
The album is supposed to be a great collection of rocking songs, like Wright's previous two solo albums, Extraction and Footprint, and unlike his later career, after he hit it big with synth driven 'DreamWeaver'.
So far, only fantastic single I Know had seen the light of day.

The bassist in Wonderwheel was Archie Legget, iirc, from Daevid Allen's "Bananamoon" album and many Kevin Ayers albums/tours. So he's probably on this too.

    Apparently, he's not.

"Originally featuring Mick Jones, Bryson Graham and Archie Leggett, the group participated on his second solo album Footprint. In 1972 they recorded Ring Of Changes, with Tom Duffey replacing Leggett on bass."

It has never been released. The Allmusic.com Gary Wright discography does include it, though. There has been test-pressing acetates circulating among collectors.

Released on Esoteric 29th July UK --hence why 5th August USA. Its rather excellent too. Was shelved at the time due to changes of personnel at the label, Gary fully involved with this one and was mastered in the USA-- lovely guy too!!
