Paying it forward: The Flower Kings

So, I'm trying to shrink my collection, and figure the FKs can go.

With the blessings of the mods, I'd like to pass along my collection of FK discs. Some are originals, some are burned. But if you've ever wondered about the band and would like to hear some of their discs, I will send them to you. I'd probably get less than $20 for the collection if I tried to sell them at a record store, so, to me, it's better if I turn someone on to their music. Stipulation is, you gotta do the same, either with their discs or someone else's. Deal?

Reply in this thread, first one who wants 'em, gets 'em. There're over 10 discs, so make sure you want them, please.

If you have Scanning the Greenhouse, I'd greatly appreciate that one. Or any of the fan club cds.

everything else I have - my favorite band - if anyone else has the 2000 Fan Club cd and wants to make a TFK completist very happy, drop me a pm.

I only have a burned copy of that one, and no fan club stuff. Sorry, guys.

Was only playing the Scanning the Greenhouse CD yesterday, Excellent collection of FK music! I would never sell that one! Garden of Dreams is another one, irreplaceable!

If I was going to 'slim' down any collection to it's bones it would be King Crimson, almost all of the 80's could go and I wouldn't miss them!

It's not the first time he's cracked this 'joke', though.

I'm in the same boat with these guys and Spock's Beard, don't have much left- I'm just not in the same place anymore.

With TFK, the one which has endured most for me is Unfold The Future, and way back I kind of struggled a bit with the jazzier flavour on some of that. I'd now say it's the best thing they did by far. Different from the usual mega-epic symphonic schtick, although that's still there as well.

I've also said a number of times that Unfold the Future is my favorite Flower Kings release. Retropolis and Stardust We Are follow closely behind.
