I really like this record! Did anyone buy the LP? How's the print quality?

You buyers out there, beware that two songs are missing on the vinyl record (Forever falling and Shikata na gai) and no download code is provided. https://www.discogs.com/Van-Der-Graa...elease/9087557

    Mucho congrato, Vicky!
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.

Darren Lock did a Prog Review video of the album where he opines that the vinyl sequencing (which he heard first) is vastly inferior to the CD version. In fact he gets quite amusingly heated about it.

All it took for Prog-Rock to become relevant again was for the entire economic model of the music industry to collapse.

Why don't you celebrate the event with a 'Top 50 Edition' of the album?
It may help scoring a 2nd week placement.
You could include a radio edit and a couple of bonus backing tracks to make us buy it again.

I made myself a playlist with the song in vinyl order and I have to say I like it better than the CD order. It's a bit shorter but more effective and I like the "up and down" of rhythms and intensities between the songs more than the "first part rockish, second part mellower" of the CD.
I think I'm definitely going to buy the LP, if the printing quality is confirmed to be ok.

Really strange mix on this one. Too bass heavy. No punch on the top end.

    Love the mix and production!
    Lots of dynamic!
You can crank it up really loud and it still sounds amazing!

Yeah there is no excessive compression. That is a good thing I agree.

Audio wise, nothing is from our end--everything came from the band--will just mention this now.

Song 8 is the best of the bunch on first listen

The new VdGG album "Do Not Disturb" gets 9 out of 10 stars in the new issue of Classic Rock magazine (that magazine can be pretty stingy with their star reviews; very rare to see them give 9, much less 10, stars).

"'Do Not Disturb' is every bit as strange, angular, and unpredictable as anything the band did in the 70's... more than 40 years of making fearless and eccentric music together has emboldened prog's original awkward squad and propelled them to a new creative peak."

    Great stuff!

Just heard Alfa Berlina on BBC radio, that's pretty adventurous for them!

Was it just played now? Or was it streaming or a rebroadcast (like, of the BBC 6 interview the other night, etc). Thanks

Looks like it was the last track Mark Riley played on his show an hour or so ago.

Yes it was Marc Riley playing it, and it was 6 Music, which plays a lot of cool stuff, but still great to have them mentioned over the airwaves, and a new and "difficult" track too.

I can say it's my 4th favourite VdGG album beside World Record. The first three are Still Life, Godbluff, and Pawn Hearts.

I've been spinning daily for about a week now (after giving it a rest for a while) and I can say a few things confidently now.

"Go" is haunting. I have the same feeling listening to this as I do listening to the final two tracks on Gong's I See You. The difference, I suppose, is Allen knew this was his final statement (more or less); PH doesn't seem ready to quit, but . . .

"Brought to Book" and "Almost the Words" are two of the finest VdGG tracks. HB's solo on the latter is one of the best moments in all of VdGG history.

"(Oh No! I Must Have Said) Yes" rocks but in a very awkward and uniquely VdGG way. PH's solo is perfect. (NOTE: I'm not saying it's a good solo, but it is perfect.)

The pacing of the album is beautiful. Perfect crests and valleys and plateaus and beats. I wish more albums were paced this well.

So, yeah, I like the thing. A lot.
I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.

Had my first couple of spins the other night. First impressions are that this is the best of the 'reformation' albums, and that there is some very strong and haunting material on here. The weirdly, more straight ahead tracks in the middle are still interesting, and everything surrounding them is great stuff. This one looks like it will be high on my best of 2016 list.

I'll have to buy this. I'm betting it'll be their final complete statement.

It's all coming to an end anyway, and has been for a while.
