R.I.P. Teri Garr at 79. I always found her very likeable.

I think audiences did too, she just had a natural talent to me. I remember her way back on Star Trek: TOS. I liked her in Close Encounters too.

One of my all time favorite movies is After Hours and Teri was great in that too. She also used to be real fun doing stuff with Letterman on his show.

She had a great sense of timing. Was quite attractive in her day.

Yup, that was her first speaking role. She's in the "wild west" vignette where Micky decides he doesn't want to do it any more, and crashes through the fake scenery.

That is the entire cast passed away now. Yet Mel Brooks is still around...he must be about 137.

He's about six months younger than Dick Van Dyke (who will be 99 in December).

R.I.P. artist Greg Hildebrandt. Greg is famous for creating one of the first Star Wars posters for the first movie, and years of work with his artist brother on fantasy art. He created the cover art for Starcastle’s “Citadel” album. Black Sabbath used a piece of his art for the Mob Rules album. And he took over doing the artwork for Trans-Siberian Orchestra starting with their fourth album.

I had his Lord of the Rings calendar when I was in college. Cool stuff!

Yep, just saw that. RIP Quincy Jones

I remember as a kid (I was about 11) my dad brought home a copy of the Dude. I liked the lyrics to the title track but didn't pay much attention to the rest of the album. Probably around the same time I found out he was the guy who composed the theme for Sanford and Son.

For those who don't know his daughter is the very lovely actress Rashida Jones.

Wow. Q was a GIANT. He is literally everywhere in music history going back to the late 1940s. He worked with Lionel Hampton, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, and on and on. Amazingly talented man. An actual musical genius.

OMG, sorry to hear. To me his legacy is Star Trek. Great actor. What a shame. A toast to Tony, with a goblet of Blood Wine.
