Michael Mantler Live 87 International Art-Rock Festival, Frankfurt

The thread discussing the live recordings has got me thinking about some favorite live albums of mine, one of these is Michael Mantler's live from 1987. The band on this concert includes Rick Fenn on guitar, Don Preston on keyboards, John Greaves bass guitar and piano, Nick Mason on drums and Jack Bruce on vocals. Mantler himself is playing trumpet of course.
the repertoire includes mostly songs from 'No Answer', 'Silence' and 'The Hapless Child" and while many prefer the Robert Wyatt versions I like very much Jack Bruce take on these, I find his singing gives them a human angle which makes them more friendly to the ear.
Anyway I started this thread just because I found some videos of this concert, hope you will enjoy them

You're Welcome, enjoy! I'm surprised he never get mentioned here, nor Carla Bley both of them should appeal to the more adventurous fans of prog.
Here is Carla Bley Combo 1972 Hamburg feat. Karin Krog, Pierre Favre, Irene Schweitzer & John Tshicai who used to play with Burning Red Ivanhoe before they released their first album:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffeGOCMJsv8
And here is another track featuring her big band from 1978 one of her more Zappaesque 'Wrong Key Donkey" titled here '440' for some reason: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dex2gNpQnlM
And finally a great quality full concert from 1976 w/Hugh Hopper, Wolfgang Dauner, Edward Vesala, Gary Windo, Albert Mangelsdorff, mantler & others: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbh0yi0wfVI

A friend of mine turned me on to Michael Mantler the other day -- I've been loving what I'm hearing.
