The Residents WOW Tour - On the road soon!

I just bought my tickets for the Santa Cruz show. So, I though I'd post a reminder for people.

I say this every tour: If you never seen the Rez live, GO! It is a great evening of performance art. I've brought people who don't care at all for the recorded music, and yet the live show was something they really enjoyed. It is a strange and wondrous thing.

Here is the US tour info:

I would love to see this show and the Carborro Arts Center is a real nice place, but a Wednesday night in the middle of a work week and a two-hour drive home afterwards - can't make it happen.

Brutal. I've missed good shows for the same reasons.

I keep looking to see if anything changed but it would take a 7 hour drive to get to the closest place they are playing. Bummmmer.

Gordo and I are going in Chicago; and I'm thinking about both nights! If there ever was a reason to shoot to Chicago Lino....this is it!

I may drive to Chicago for this. I think I would regret not going.

Last time they toured the USA, they went on to Europe, then the came back to a different US itinerary. I suppose we can hope for that.

They were in DC this past weekend, I blinked and missed it.

Saw the show on Feb. 2nd in Dallas. F'in brilliant. If you're a Residents fan you'll love it...if you have friends who have never heard them before, the nature of the show makes it the perfect time to introduce them...

I looked at some of the merch they are offering at shows on their website. There are photos but no details. Can anyone recall what the prices are like? Or if any of the CDs are particularly good? I'm trying to get an idea of how much to bring with me.

One more week before I go!

I've been. It was a really cool show. However, it was pretty under attended compared to previous tours. I hope this doesn't mean The Rez will quit Santa Cruz. However, it's been a great run in any event. I count myself lucky to have had The Residents delivered two blocks from my front door for so many tours.

I also got to hear things I never thought I would live. The whole Intermission medley at the end of the third set was something very dear to my heart. I'm really happy to have gotten a live taste of it. Closing with "Mahogany Wood" was special to me also.

In the middle of the encore set a guy near me yelled "iPad solo!" That busted me up.
