    Aimee Mann - Charmers

Anyone here listening to the new Aimee Mann album, Charmer? I've been getting into the first few songs so far, and it's good. Initially, just listening to the samples, I thought, Do I really need another Aimee Mann album? It can all start to sound a bit same-y. Or rather, her approach is very consistent. But after listening a bit, I am very happy I picked it up. She just keeps refining and improving her songcraft, IMO. Good instruments and tones (mellotron and moog!), and catchy hooks and sharp, wry lyrics. Recommended.

*Edit* The album is called Charmer-- singular. D'oh.

Might be her first really straightforward attempt at pure pop, but it's a good one.
Compact Disk brought high fidelity to the masses and audiophiles will never forgive it for that
