Simplicity has always been part of the appeal, this time though it took some searching, rather than have the message displayed as soon as I connected. I was initially panicked, then peeved, and finally able to relax! I’m still an Apple evangelist, my previous laptop gave 7 years service without issue, and even now serves as a repository for a back up of my music files. I have an iMac that is still operational after more than a decade, though it’s not my primary tool any more. They have given me great service over the years and value for money long term.

I'm sitting right next to a Mac tower that is more than ten years old and served me very well. I still fire it up once in a while for some apps I don't have on my Macbook Pro. I should use it as a server for all of my stock photos, but I don't know how to do that. I'm not a techie, which is why I love Apple. They not only brought elegance to home computing, they also brought user-friendliness, something MS still seems to not get.

While I have used iMac workstations at the studio over the years, I purchased a G4 in 2001, a MBP in 2008, and my current one in 2017. The primary reasons for replacing both had more to do with software improvements and the heavy lift of video/rendering times than any functional item of Mac itself. I still have my 2008 MBP, but can't use it unless I was to find an old charger from that time.

And I was going to say earlier that the UX of Apple products in general has always been part of the charm/experience. I have "techie inclinations" in so far as I have built my own PC before and work with a variety of audio or visual gear. But I have had some experiences lately (change of WiFi service, new router, etc.) where I have turned to my wife and said "how is anyone without tech experience supposed to troubleshoot/figure this stuff out?"

^^ Simple! They call guys like you and me, and pay us to do all that. In other words, job security for us nerds. I'd still be working in IT, but for the fact I got tired of driving all over kingdom come, in Phoenix area traffic, in 115 degree heat.

That looks good, Ron! But isn't that the Radio Shack logo on the left above the blurb on "Branding?"

Sorry, a small tech question here - not sure if it's at all Apple related, but...

I have an iPhone, but use a Windows 10 laptop. I want to be able to send and receive sms texts on my laptop (I use Verizon). How can I do this?

Man am I sick of iOS apps “resetting” when you navigate away and back! Who fing designed iOS or the apps so that this happens? Posts I’ve typed get lost before I’ve posted them, albums I’m in the middle of listening to on Bandcamp’s app lose their place, etc. It sucks!

If you update your phone to the new IOS, be prepared for an annoying bug for which Apple has no immediate fix. No matter what the memory actual has, the phone will tell you "iPhone storage almost full". There is no way at present to remove this notice.

    Same on Android.
Type something into a text box in one tab, open another tab to check something or whatever, go back to the original tab and you have to start over.

Blaming IOS for the fact that Facebook is a piece of sh/t, and other apps or webpages, is misplaced blame. I have IOS apps which don’t do that. A complicating factor is that some apps don’t allow copy or cut, but will allow paste in order to protect against copying copyrighted data.

If they could just make all windows in iOS behave like tabs in a desktop browser I’d be much happier.

Each app is made by different developers.
You don’t want a operating system work like a web browser.

Swipe up and see all app the open app’s
