    Carlos Santana/Alice Coltrane - Illuminations

Every so often I revisit this entrancing collaboration, what say y'all?

This has been on my list of CDs to check out forever. Is it good?

This is, along with Ptah and Satchi, in my top 3 albums of her...

Despite being an atheist, I absolutely love this weird blend of spiritual quest and utter felicity and joy... Some might call it hippie stuf, but i've got no problems with that as well...

It's also Carlos' best out-of-Santana "solo" work, IMHO
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

Amazing on so many levels, colorful cinematic orchestrations, a killing rhythm section of Jack DeJohnette and Dave Holland, Carlos playing very expressively, what's not to like, save for the utterly pointless "Sri Chinmy Aphorism" at the start, shouldn't have been included, but that aside, an amazing disc.

Yeah, a very pleasant album. Nice to see it getting some love.
