My fav is Private Parts & Pieces II: Back To The Pavillion (1980) by Anthony Phillips.
This is an amazing album with a lot of pastoral English symphonic rock aesthetic of beautiful harmonies and pleasant folk-ingredient.

If you count Mike Oldfield as a guitarist I'd go with Ommadawn, if not I'll go with Larks Tongues in Aspic, if you want solo then I'll go with Roy Harper - Stormcock.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?
There are only 10 types of people in the World, those who understand binary and those that don't.
In The Eye Of The Storm- Roger Hodgson
For live albums it's got to be Yessongs with Steve Howe at the absolute top of his game. Studio, I'd say Focus Moving Waves with my other favourite guitarist Jan Akkerman in similarly stellar form.
EDIT: Obviously misinterpreted the title of this thread, so I'll go for Mike Oldfield's Ommadawn instead of the above, with Spectral Mornings by Steve Hackett not far behind.

Not positive I understand the OP, but I think I go with Floyd's Animals.
Wow, Eric Johnson Tones is also a favorite of mine, but I have to go with Steve Hackett - Spectral Mornings.

Most likely one of these:
Steve Hillage - Fish Rising
Steve Hackett - Voyage of the Acolyte
