More 'Werk this week. Today is Trans Europe Express.
If it isn't Krautrock, it's krap.

the 3-D Catalogue boxset is quite nice. thought the "Minimum-Maximum" live album was excellent, this is basically their entire catalogue done that way

So...this is a thing. I don't know how else to describe it exactly O_o

“Remember, if it doesn't say "Cuneiform," it's not prog!” - THE Jed Levin
Any time any one speaks to me about any musical project, the one absolute given is "it will not make big money". [tip of the hat to HK]
"Death to false 'support the scene' prog!"
please add 'imo' wherever you like, to avoid offending those easily offended.
Well the sitcom had a few brief moments... One of the many cases where the execution doesn't quite live up to the concept.
It made me chuckle less for the actual result than the sheer insanity of the idea, to be honest.

great video!
Its like one part early Cardiacs, one part Tim and Eric, and one part Kraftwerk juice.

I remember hearing Autobahn for the first time on the radio, WMMR in Philly. Of course, that was back in the day when AOR stations commanded a large part of the market in many cities and weren't afraid to play longer tracks on air. It was one of the songs that pushed me into listening to keyboard-oriented music.
Radioactivity and TEE tonight. I dig TEE more overall, but the tune "Radioactivity" is one of my favorite KW tunes ever. I love this stuff in headphones.

Revisiting Kraftwerk
I remember when Autobahn came out and I loved it
Its weird that they disowned their first 3 albums
What is interesting for me 45 years later is to realize just how influential they were on later generations
Both in musical approach , technology and image concept
In the mid 70’s These guys were futuristic and looking back they din’t sound anachronistic like most acts who were based on technological innovations
Funny, I just noticed this documentary will be aired by Arte TV next Friday, but it can already be seen on the website https://www.arte.tv/de/videos/048927...twerk-pop-art/
B.t.w. I've got Kraftwerk And The Electronic Revolution on DVD, which is 180 minutes long:
Part 1:
2 Kraftwerk treads?
Kraftwerk are both prog and non-prog. Like a sort of Schroedinger's Cat of prog.
Let he (or she) who has never posted in one of several Yes threads cast the first stone

Since you are getting biblical...
I haven't posted in a YES thread as far as I remember, and I am not particularily fond of Kraftwerk.
I find them rather boring...
I prefer a 'clone' album like YMO's Technodelic
Yellow Magic Orchestra is peachy too

It's really important to have this on record.
Everything which isn't prog can easily be defined as a sort of non-prog, a separate genre not beyond prog but somewhat a bit under prog. Prog, for the record, has something to do with Yes and Genesis, both of whom also did some non-prog but which were mostly prog, not non-prog. One of the most enticing questions nowadays is whether or not Genesis or Yes will reform and whether or not it will be prog or non-prog to come out of it. Prog is not non-prog, and non-prog is not prog. One can be a bit prog and a bit non-prog, but it's very hard to be prog and non-prog at the exact same time. Prog - not non-prog - is the absolute keyword of absolutely everything, even if it's a non-prog issue.
