AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson told to stop touring

    http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-03-0...g-deaf/7229224

My reaction is one of surprise. Not surprise that this has happened, but that it did not happen long ago, to Brian or one of the other band members, or why it's not more common with members of heavy rock bands.

    Yes, agree!
    On the other hand:

AC/DC: How does the show go on with only one original member?

Disaster Area was a plutonium rock band from the Gagrakacka Mind Zones and was generally regarded as not only the loudest rock band in the Galaxy, but also as being the loudest noise of any kind at all. Regular concert goers judged that the best sound balance was usually to be heard from within large concrete bunkers some thirty-seven miles away from the stage, whilst the musicians themselves played their instruments by remote control from within a heavily insulated spaceship which stayed in orbit around the planet - or more frequently around a completely different planet.
They could have been talking about AC/DC.

I think AC/DC needs to seriously consider calling it a day, but otoh I guess the brand can continue as long as Angus is healthy and wants to continue. Wonder what the real issue is regarding Brian. I thought he sounded damned good on Rock Or Bust. I know, I know, in the studio they can make anyone sound good but still wonder what's going on. First it's "stop touring or go deaf" then "he's been kicked to the curb" by the band.

*If* this is all true and not just Chinese whispers, then it's pretty shabby treatment of a man who effectively rescued the band at a point where they could have become a footnote in rock and roll history - "oh AC/DC, yeah I remember them, lost their singer and were never the same when xxxxxxx took over".

If true this is sad. But, bearing in mind all the other bad news, lets be grateful Brian is still alive.

Apparently, that "been kicked to the curb" thing was from a joke that Jim Breuer made. Didn't happen, according to Breuer.

I hear Dave Evans the original lead singer has put his hand up.

“Pleasure and pain can be experienced simultaneously,” she said, gently massaging my back as we listened to her Coldplay CD.

She said no, so he stole her shirt.

let's face it, AC/DC is long past their prime anyway. the absence of Malcolm's writing & performing is the deepest blow. i always thought Brian Johnson's vocals was one of the worse in Rock & Roll- but it worked for AC/DC. if fans wanna pay to see them now- more power to them.

The early albums work best for me now. The tones that Malcolm and Angus got pre-Mutt Lange were incredible.

Johnson's voice was shot after about 3 albums into his AC/DC career.
Compact Disk brought high fidelity to the masses and audiophiles will never forgive it for that

The first two albums with BJ were quite OK, but I stopped caring after For Those About...

My first thought about the Axl rumour was that it must be a joke. But I guess that even if Axl actually was there on stage with AC/DC, I'd still think it must be a joke.

AXL ROSE BACK IN BLACK HAT ... In Studio with AC/DC!!

No one on the planet is about to rock as hard as Axl Rose, and we have the first photos of him rehearsing with his new band ... AC/DC!

The Guns N' Roses frontman announced last week he was going to fill in as lead singer for AC/DC, which is opening for GNR on its upcoming tour. Axl was at a rehearsal studio in Atlanta with Angus Young and co. on Friday ... no doubt, running through the classics.

Axl's said he's been working hard to get in shape for the double duty tour -- and this is our first look at him in a long time.

If the voice works ... do ya really care what he looks like?

Will they be 2 hours late on stage with Axl in the band? I always found AC/DC fairly professional for a RNR band. I pretty much lost interest after FTATR. I saw the Fly On The Wall tour & Flick Of The Switch tour, both were fun. Nothing since then.

I'm having a difficult time accepting Mr. Rose with AC/DC. Well, I guess they have contractual obligations. The show must go on.
