Requiem for a Pink Moon - Joel Frederiksen

This shouldn't work, but it does. Exquisite settings of Nick Drake songs in the context of Elizabethan lute songs (there are some Dowland, Cavendish and Campion songs here as well), by one of the best early music ensembles around, the Ensemble Phoenix Munich.

Open eared lovers of Drake (or Dowland) will love this. I do.

Wow, what a concept. This looks too good not to check out further.

I would have preferred instrumentals. I don't like this guy's voice enough to pick this up.

I've heard some buzz about this but never actually got around to checking it out. Thanks for posting it.

I bought this album four years ago and I really liked this way of covering Drake's work.
The album was discussed on the Nick Drake-forum too.
