Always great to see new stuff from Eno. Sounds really interesting!

In addition to Trope there are three other generative-music apps linked to Brian's name, Scape, Bloom and Audio Palette. There's even a couple similar "overlapping loops" apps of nature sounds, Relax Melodies and iRelax, and one of synth tones, Music Tiles. Not to forget Robert Rich's Somnium app too -- which sadly does not appear to work with the new OS.

Unfortunately all these rather quickly wear out their novelty value.

    Scape is wonderful.
The amount of possibilities have consistently impressed me. The apparent amount of thinking/design behind it is impressive. It is far beyond a "novelty" for me but i do understand that ambient music is not everyone's cuppa.

Isn't there also a De-Enosifactor application available ? If yes, I would gladly put The Lamb ... through it to remove all Brian's dreadful sonic treatments. This guy was responsible for spoiling of one of my favorite albums ever and make it sounds like s**t. Did he really get paid for THAT ? Otherwise I have the greatest respect for his precursory work in the electronic/ambient genre.

Isn't the Enosification only on Grand Parade and of course The Waiting Room? I think it's great on Grand Parade.

    ^^

I believe this to be correct - if there's a problem with the overall sound of Lamb, Eno certainly wasn't the cause.

Scape is awesome. While Bloom and Trope are very limited in what they do and don't lend themselves to much more than meditative tinkering, Scape is really a powerful musical environment. I even used a piece I designed in Scape as the background/foundation for a track on my new album, overdubbing it with various Moogs, loops, guitar, and saxophone.

I never thought there was any problem with the sound. This is news to me!

Indeed! Lamb is the best sounding Genesis album.

Agreed. I think it's great on both, and I like the production on the Lamb (which wasn't done by Eno). And as the story goes, Eno didn't get paid, but got to use Phil on his album in return.

Did he use Phil? On which album? I either didn't know or forgot...

Both "Another Green World" and "Before and After Science" feature Phil Collins.

Also "Taking Tiger Mountain" which I think was the one he did while the Lamb was being produced.

Wow, I didn't remember that. Kudos, Phil!
