I could't figure out how link a video like you guys.
Let me know how!
The Gotye song is an odd choice for this thread. Maybe the music sounds chirpy, but if you listen to the words it's quite bitter.
This one, by contrast, is genuinely happy:
This is so very different from person to person, for example a lot of melancholy pop, like Kate Bush, just makes me feel really depressed. And a lot of current radio pop and R & B just irritates the crap out of me.
The kind of thing that soothes the beast in me nowadays and makes me feel very relaxed and happy is stuff like this:
'
Frank Sinatra's version of "The Sunny Side of the Street" always makes me feel better.

"Improvisation is not an excuse for musical laziness" - Fred Frith
"[...] things that we never dreamed of doing in Crimson or in any band that I've been in," - Tony Levin speaking of SGM
Happy-clappy songs such as the Pharrell Williams or the Bobby McFerrin one usually make me feel nauseous.
"please do not understand me too quickly"-andre gide
^^ That's one that does NOT make me nauseous.
The entire Beach Boys/Brian Wilson SMiLE album.
This one always has me smiling:
And while the lyrics are a little down, the drive here is soooo uplifting:
Cobra handling and cocaine use are a bad mix.
Music to make you feel that it's a good time to change stations.
Almost any sunshine pop from the mid to late 60s (Harper's Bizzare, Yellow Balloon, Jan & Dean, Association). And I'll throw some bubblegum into the mix (Ohio Express, 1910 Fruitgum Company, Lemon Pipers).

Looking forward to my day in court.
This is my first time seeing the Hang On Sloopy video. I wouldn't have been interested in it when it was out, but my mom would've changed the channel anyway. That girl was a great dancer.
Often rumored to be Rick's wife at the time, Liz Derringer, other sources (and photographic evidence) discount that.
Do the research she is not his first wife! Rick Derringer did not remember her name at the time of the video. She was an unknown girl that showed up for the time of the shoot of this video, which would have been approximately around 1975 for the re-release of his song and added lyrics about Sloopy wearing a red dress as old as the the hills etc...
