I think Rick has run out of ideas
Hopefully all of the orchestral parts will be replaced with ABWH-era synth-brass and strings!

After 6 Wives my favourite by Rick. I'm in on this.
& he hasn't ruled out a performance on ice! How do I donate?
No.
I'm no fan of Wakeman's solo work, but I'm sure he's still got plenty of ideas. I think you've got this backwards. It's not Wakeman; it's us. Wakeman knows -- like Yes/Asia/King Crimson/Eddie Jobson/Ian Anderson/Martin Turner know -- that nostalgia sells. If he does a brand new album, it will sell a small fraction of what this will. This is what the buying public want. (And if you want a brand new solo album, he appears to have about 3 in the pipeline.)

No, his re-recording of Journey To The Center of the Earth was phenomenal. WAY better than the clumsy original live recording. One of his best albums easily. Easily.
The only thing I'm skeptical on is him adding new material to King Arthur. If it was material he wrote in 1974 that got left out, fine. But new tracks.... eh. Also, the fact he needs to do a kickstarter campaign.
This has been the record I alwyas hoped Rick Wakeman should re-record (one of my Desert Island discs). It's been my all time favorite of all of his outputs. I will gladly contribute to make it possible.

You're probably right and like a real softy I'll buy this upon release. I didn't really care much for his remake of Journey which I thought was an excellent idea considering how the original was done on one take live instead of in the studio the way he wanted to do it in the first place. Maybe he'll surprise me and make a great King Arthur remake.

I'd certainly go for this. I love the original in all its cheese.
"The White Zone is for loading and unloading only. If you got to load or unload go to the White Zone!"
Did he use vintage keys on the Journey remake?

Okay, well that's a definite plus (to put it mildly). These are two of my brother-in-law's favorite albums, but he's VERY particular about solos being the same to the point that he doesn't like live renditions. How true was he to the solos on the Journey remake?

Thanks for the info. I actually don't know Journey very well. My brother-in-law lent it to me once but I didn't give it much of a chance. I LOVE 6 Wives with no reservations but like Arthur despite, or maybe partly because of, its silliness. My brother-in-law loves Arthur and Journey big time, so I'm trying to gage whether he'd be interested in the remakes or not.

This from the Update for pledgers...
Everything is moving ahead here at a rate of knots as regards “King Arthur’s progress” and I thought it would be a good idea, as I have already announced that there will be five news pieces, to actually tell everybody what their titles are……and so , here goes….
CAMELOT.
THE HOLY GRAIL.
MORGAN LE FAY.
PERCIVAL.
PRINCESS ELEANE.
It looks very likely that there will now be a 6th new piece as well .
Even though on the recording there will be no additional narration apart from that which was on the original recording, the concept album will be telling its own musical story, but at the O2 concert on June 19th there will indeed be a narrator and those of you who are coming to the playback party will indeed hear that story telling narrative as the narrator will be there and that will be part of the playback.
Studio days for recording have now been decided upon and over the coming weeks there will be even more meetings with the members of the English Rock Ensemble, the English Chamber Choir, The Orion Symphony Orchestra, my choice of narrator …(already decided upon but not announcing just yet), my technical crew, my studio engineer Erik Jordan plus preparations for the when and where’s as regards rehearsals
Does it matter that this waste of time is what makes a life for you?
I will also be getting my good mate Jim Davidson in to do the narration.
Just be sure Ashley Holt stays far, far away....
Is that from Wakeman too? Davidson, really? I know he's mates with Wakeman, but... well, read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Da...#Controversies

^He's quite the ELP fan as well (I remember some later version of 'Karn Evil 9' being used as theme to The Generation Game, when he presented that). A very mixed blessing for the rest of us ELP fans, it has to be said.
Relax, there'll be no "Sir Nick-Nick" as one of the only surviving knights of the Round Table. I knew they were pals and was imagining a worst case scenario.
As long as whoever does get the gig changes Bleoboris to the proper Bleoberis, that's the main thing.
Listening to this now. Sounds great, even more overblown than the original and twice as long. At least through my computer speakers, the production sounds terrific. As in the original, also, some of the vocals are a bit...uh...
