The Creation of the Prog Humanoids!

OK earthlings, our violinist Tom had some fun making a little movie using clips from Creation of the Humanoids and some of the music from our piece by the same name from our most recent album. We thought you would enjoy it, so I'm sharing it here. It addresses some pertinent questions about Prog that are much discussed and hotly debated. And never before has the Youtube brought you a more shocking revelation about one of our Prog heroes! Hope you enjoy!

    loved it!
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Fan-fargin'-tastic! Good stuff, Tom and EO. Saw that movie years ago, probably hosted by the Ghoul. Completely forgot that I'd seen it until the guy at the end says I wouldn't be here; then I remembered it. Love the Joan Crawford eyebrows on the chick with the hat.

I don't think any of us are members over there, but absolutely feel free to post it over there if you like. We made it to be shared and enjoyed (well, Tom made it, but who's counting?).

This is actually a bit of an inside joke with the band. Back when Mark Cella was our drummer, he told us about a customer of his CD business, M&M Music, who had purchased the Pye Fyte album on which Mark also played drums. The customer asked if Pye Fyte had used a real Mellotron. Mark said that yes, they did, and the customer replied, "really, a real white one?!"

Of course the M400 was generally white, so Mark knew what he was saying, but he still thought it was funny how a Mellotron's sonic "authenticity" would be measured by its color. It's been a bit of an inside joke with the band ever since. Mark had to lie, though, when he said it was a "real white one," because someone had painted Pye Fyte's M400 orange. That would have just confused the situation. But it was just a little white lie.

M&M was my pre-internet vendor of choice, based here in MA. I recall that one of the partners had sadly died.

Yes, sadly Mark passed away in 2010. He was our bandmate and friend, and with his knowledge really handled all the business aspects of the band. We had a terribly difficult time filling the void he left, and it took us quite a while to recover. But we've been amazingly lucky to find Rick Landwehr, who initially helped us finish up the last EO album that Mark had started, but who fit in so well has now become an indispensable part of the band.

The drums you hear in the Creation of the Prog Humanoids clip above is from Mark's last session with the band, and may be the last thing he ever recorded. He recorded the first three sections of Creation of the Humanoids that day, Rick came in later to finish up the last two sections.
