New Causa Sui on the way!

While this teaser is short on catchy riffs, these guys are still an autobuy for me. They manage to deeply scratch the itch for kraut-inflected jammy bliss.

Now I wasn't able to find an official drop date as of yet, but I assume "soon" means within a month, and we won't have to wait until summer.

Well, I am somewhat excited, I mean, I do dig these, but their last release was their worst out the last 3 or 4 releases, making this NOT an auto-buy from me UNTIL I can hear it first...

Do you mean Euporie Tide, Live at Freak Valley, or Pewt'r Sessions 3?

I think Pewt'r Sessions 3 was technically their last release, but Euporie Tide was their most recent studio effort.

I really liked Euporie Tide, Live at Freak Valley was solid, but Pewt'r Sessions 3 was just alright - the stronger tracks from the sessions having been released years before in Pewt'r Sessions 1&2.

I wasn't crazy abour Pewt'r Sessions at all so never picked up "3".. Euporie Tide and "Summer Sessions" are excellent. I'm even a big fan of "Free Ride", vocals and all...

I quite like Live at Freak Valley. I keep thinking I'd might enjoy seeing them in concert. Danish acid-rock scene has always delivered the goods, so these have a strong and proud tradition to withold.

Hey, The Summer Sessions finally has a CD reissue!

I've been wanting this for a long time. These contain some of the best material recorded by the band.

Sweet. I was hoping for this, but had already conceded it wasn't going to happen.

Any chance this makes it to America or am I going to have to it order it from afar?

I ordered from afar. I my guess is that they will trickle through the usual channels. I decided not to be patient.

^ yeah. I only ask because it's not even listed as a preorder anywhere, nor did I see it on the wayside coming soon list (or really anywhere until your post above).

I'd prefer to order from the US but I don't want to miss it again.

My shipment just got in today. I'm ripping in Volume One as I type. I got these and the Nicklas Sorensen Solo album, so I'm looking forward to digging into that as well.

The new one, Return to Sky, drops on the 18th. I just received the Summer Sessions 1-3 on CD. Those have been out of print for a long time, and quite dear to come by. If you have any interest in picking them up, I suggest you do so. Who knows when they'll come back around.

IMO, the Summer Sessions are still pretty much at the top of their discography.

Autobuy. I have Summer Sessions 1-3, Live at Freak Valley and Euporie Tide. Plus some live stuff from DIME. Love 'em all.

I finally have my copy. (I was going to get my hands on it earlier, but I spent a lot of my "fun money" at the Magma concert, which coincided with the album's release.)

My initial impression: another win for Causa Sui!

Overall, it isn't quite as heavy sounding as Euporie Tide. Still, everything I like about the band is in play. It is a worthy successor. I'm sure I'll post more as I get more familiar with this new batch of sounds. In the meantime, if you like what this band has put down in the past, proceed with confidence.

Downloaded this yesterday with no thanks to f***ing iTunes! (God, I hate buying from them!)... Excellent release! Every bit as good as Euporie Tide. Only weaker point is the meandering final track.. Should figure in my top 10 of 2016.

    I recommend:

    Return To Sky
    Euporie Tide
    Summer Sessions

The debut is hit and miss. I didn't really care for their other releases...

These are all strong. Mind you, the Summer Sessions are three discs. So that list is plenty to start.

If you are going to buy physical copies, I would nudge you towards the Summer Sessions, which just came back in print after a considerable fallow period.

You may want to sample the Summer Sessions first, mind you. It has a guest sax player so if you're averse to that sort of thing, stay away. I thought it was an interesting sound but 3 discs of it is enough. Some of those tracks are pretty intense!

Reading around on the 'net, the album has garnered strong reviews by those who write such things.

I like what one reviewer had to say, that the music is clearly composed, but it sounds spontaneous. I really think this is one of the reasons I prefer their records: while a lot of work must have been put into them, the music doesn't sound labored, but a fresh experience. Of course, I'm well into subjectivity here, but the words resonate with my experience of the music.
