Classic Albums Live Performs Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon

Anyone seen this group? Never seen them before. Just bought tix for their DSOTM show in Tarrytown May 21st. The weird thing is that the group's website says they're playing Led Zeppelin IV in Ontario that night, so I emailed the booking agent to ask WTF is up?

Classic Albums Live re-creates the musical brilliance of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. Note for note. Cut for cut. This is not a tribute band. There are no gimmicks or fake English accents. This is simply a live re-creation of one of the greatest pop/rock albums ever made. Classic Albums Live brings together some of the country's finest musicians to recreate live on stage the exact sounds of the greatest albums of the 60s and 70s. Musicians are chosen according to their sound and their fit into a particular niche, be it Pink Floyd, The Beatles, or The Stones. The album might require a sitar player, a children's choir, a string quartet or someone to ring the alarm clock. Whatever it takes, the musicians treat these revered albums like a score -the way a symphony orchestra treats Mozart. ‘Eclipse (A Piece for Assorted Lunatics)’, as it was originally known, was first performed at the Rainbow Theatre in London on February 17, 1972 - more than a year before it was released as Dark Side of the Moon. The music critics loved it. The London Times described it as "... bringing tears to the eyes. It was so completely understanding and musically questioning." Touching on some profound themes including mental illness, conflict, greed, and the space time continuum, the album became a huge success, remaining on the charts for longer than any other album in history. To truly appreciate the music from Dark Side of the Moon, check out Classic Albums Live.

Well, there was a time when Gallagher was simultaneously smashing watermelons in Vegas, L.A., and probably Branson too. It's all about franchising.

Yeah, this turns out to be the case. Odd though that they only list one of the shows on their website.

I hope I get the version with the hottest backup singers!

This show was tonight. They did an excellent job. They were damned faithful. The first set was DSOTM, and the second set was:

    SOYCD
    ABITW2
    Mother
    WYWH
    One of these Days
    Run Like Hell
    Comfortably Numb

A bit heavy on The Wall, but all good. The lead guitarist even did the sigh or whatever you hear near the beginning of WYWH. The sax player also did some sound effects, and did the cash registers and adding machines at the beginning of Money using tins of coins, shakers, etc. great stuff, and the sound was superb.
