Wow! I didn't know (or it went through my age/drug addled brain without retention-not a first) that you were connected to MC & SU, Steve! My son & I will be at the Fri 1/8 show at Shank Hall in Milwaukee (8:00pm start for Might Could). The next night they're in their hometown of Chicago. If I was 20 years younger I'd do both nights, but sanity is ever so slowly starting to trump a lifetime of physical irresponsibility.

This is a double bill not to be missed imho, whether in Milwaukee, Chicago, Baltimore or anywhere else. These bands should NOT be flying under so many prog listener's radar. They're both too good.

Well, Luis is an old pal FROM many past Orion shows, but mostly I am just the Orion door guy....that's the connection.

But Ed, there's a private group thread wherein you revel in sloppy!

They had a good crowd last night and both bands were on f*****g fire! I went with my son (the ghost) and my friend Terri, who's a singer who has been the vocalist in a 4 piece Rush tribute band and currently is working up some solo jazz standards work, so she's pretty damn good. When Sonus's set was done, after she'd listened to Brittany Lee Moffitt, she said (only half in jest), "shit, I might have to stop singing".

It's worth it to go just to see Andy Tillitson show his guitar virtuosity in Might Could, and then sit behind his kit kicking ass with Sonus. Beyond impressive, and this guy, like Luis, is a Physics prof (in his spare time), who flew in with his family for the holidays and this small tour from Abu Dhabi, where both he and his wife teach.

I invited Terri & bought her a ticket because Sonus has been trying to get a gig in Madison, and Terri is much more involved currently in the Madison music scene than I am, and has been singing at the venue they'd most like to play (already visited by Luis) longer than I have. I knew she would like them (actually she was gobsmacked & bought both bands new cds). She's on board now in trying to crack the "Madison gig" wall (wall got higher after Nevermind/Butch Vig) for Sonus.

Merch was moving for them too, and I was gratified to see that.

    GO!

Sonus and Might Could were absolutely awesome, in both Milwaukee and Chicago (technically Berwyn) over the weekend. This is top tier level music. See them if you have the chance.

We had a great time in Milwaukee and here at home in Chicago. Friends came from far and wide to support. We can't wait to hit the interstates and play Orion and the NJ Proghouse this weekend! Thanks to Neil and Geezer for the nice comments!
