Very interested in the Reve General, could be right up my alley. I'm pretty sure that the Schnellertollermeier is not a debut.

My debut album of the year pick (nominally "jazz" but really applies to ALL music) has to be Jon Benjamin - Jazz Daredevil's well, I should have...*

He also makes a triumphant foray into hip-hop with the mesmerizing bonus track:

"Wouldn't it be odd, if there really was a God, and he looked down on Earth and saw what we've done to her?" -- Adrian Belew ('Men In Helicopters')

    For his debut, no less!

I, again, have to go with:

    Dave Kerzner - New World

There's certainly other worthy, more complex stuff, but this has been filling my head most, so...

I would probably go with Dave Kerzner's album. I think it is his first solo effort and I am really digging it.

Aargh, a lot of good ones. But I think for me the nod goes to Hooffoot. Great driving music. I love that subtle Bo Hansson vibe that creeps through on occasion too.

yes, this was a duo project of hers and Gautier Serre (Igorrr). they've worked on it together for several years. they added 3 more members to become a full band. I'm outside of the box on this one but I think it's great.
