Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?
This past weekend, I was at my wife's family reunion on Lake Chautauqua in New York. After they golfed (which I do not do) I met them at a really cool micro-brewery inside a renovated barn. Big Inlet is the brewery. Not any good pics of beer, just my ugly mug enjoying their nitro Stout. They also have a really nice tavern ale.

Brian Dennehy: "I'm now 80 and I'm just another actor and that's fine with me. I've had a hell of a ride," ... "I have a nice house. I haven't got a palace, a mansion, but a pretty nice, comfortable home. I've raised a bunch of kids and sent them all to school, and they're all doing well. All the people that are close to me are reasonably healthy and happy. Listen, that's as much as anybody can hope for in life."
I had this on tap a few weeks ago and was blown away. I told the waitress "where has this beer been all my life". I gave it a 4.25 on Beer Advocate.

^looks like a beer I would enjoy. I'll probably never see one out here.

I will be in Leuven & Brussels for 5 days next week. Two days for work. 3 days for drinking beer.
I am already looking forward to renewing acquaintance with Flanders red beers such as Vichtenaar, Rodenbach (Gran Cru), Duchesse de Bourgogne... & quadrupels such as the Straffe Hendrik.
My eldest daughter, who has very similar tastes in beer to me - leaning especially towards Lambic sours such as Geuze Boon - is coming over to join me in Brussels, to drunk beer with me. What could be better?
Oh, I know! - once we're done, we're on the train back to London to watch the Red Sox "home series" against the Yankees at the London Stadium. Where we will, I'm sure, take the opportunity to drink more beer whilst giving some love to Mookie!
Having a Bourbon County Brand Stout. 'Nuff said.
Although many beers taste good, not all beer is in good taste. I, personally, am not an objector to such things; they can brew what they want. But what do you think of this, from the FiftyFifty brewery in Truckee, California website:
Donner Party Porter
DPP is one tasty porter that will get you through the harshest winter. This complex pint’s flavor profile includes hints of oak cakes, molasses, smooth rich dark chocolate, mocha and espresso. That, my friends, is what we call a robust, almost historical porter, and why we say "your friends never tasted so good!"

^ As long as it doesn't taste like pioneer, I guess.

I knew the Scots were tough, but did not know they ate trees.
Still...better than what the Donner Party ate.

I like oatmeal stout, so I imagine I would like an oat porter. I recently tried a local oat vodka that wasn't bad. I'll give that Donner Party Porter a try next time I'm in a place that has it on tap. As long as it's not flavored with Soylent Green.

Haven't tried this one, but the Zappa song was my first thought upon seeing the bottled beer in a store.

In Leuven, the Rodenbach Alexander - on tap. Stunning. Signature Oude Bruin, macerated with sour cherries. One of the best beers I've ever tasted.
Also - Geuze Marriage Parfait (2014) — in any other world, this would have been the best beer I'd ever drunk...
Oh that sounds nice.
