the 60 min, 90 min and 120 min are the ABV... 6, 9 and 12
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Save them and bring to Progday for this years tasting session(s!)

So, what's the meaning of the "minutes" besides ABV? Anything?

There is an American Pale Ale made by Great Basin Brewing of Sparks, Nevada, called Deathwish. At 6.66% ABV, and with that name, at least it's not hard to guess where they came up with the numbers.

Perhaps that's how long the buzz is supposed to last

I believe its the amount of time they dry hop...

^Thanks. Life is difficult enough without your beer being mystifying.

I'll probably be bringing some 120 to ProgDay also. I suggest to anyone who is offput by the booziness, put a bottle(s) in the back of the fridge or cellar, forget about it for 2 or 3 or more years, then try it. It mellows very nicely.

Maybe I'll try that although when it comes to IPA's I can't say that I have found aging to be a good thing.

I am not much of a Barley Wine fan which may explain why I don't care for it all that much.

Having my first beer in almost two weeks (due to flu and recovery). An Odd Side Rye Hipster. Welcome back, beer.

Dig. I measure the severity of any illness by the length of time spent not wanting/being able to drink beer. It's been a pretty decent winter so far. Just picked up a four-pack of Piraat for the weekend. Loves me some Belgian Triples...

There's always extra meaning when you greet an old friend, isn't there?

Working on a Founders Solid Gold Lager. Will be rotating with Sierra Brut IPAs and Golden Road Wolf Pup Session IPAs tonight.

Solid Gold is pretty darn good. It is great in the summer.

I had it on tap at Founders last year and liked it. Will have to try a can.

I'm not really Lager guy, but I'd rate this as one of the best Lagers out there.

Picked up a 4 pack of Bell's Hazy IPA tonight. It's not cold, so will have to wait for another night. Never had it before, but with their track record, I'm expecting it to be good.

<sigh> Ian goes New England, and now everybody's gotta start doing it.

They released a tap version back in the fall, but just started bottling / canning it a few weeks ago. I would say it is a good, but not great NEIPA. For me the best in West Michigan is M-43, and the Bell's version does not quite rank up with that, but it is still a good solid version of the style.

Since a recent topic here was DFH 120, it's time for one.

Having the latest Dragon's Milk Reserve (Orange Chocolate). Very strong orange aroma but orange and chocolate flavors don't mix well at all here. Should they have? Fail.

Been curious about that, but never tried it. Sounds like I will avoid....
