In England for my annual boys drinking trip, had Old Peculier, Theakstons Bitter, Tim Taylor Landlord, Bishops Finger, Black Sheep, King Hobgoblin and many others.

Many of those are available over here, Ian. Is the stuff of same name in Blighty different than the export stuff that we get, apart from the serving temperature? Back in the early 90s, before the Craft explosion, I had broken away from domestic swill and was drinking a lot of British imports. However, I had been told by some who had visited Britain that the stuff we were getting was very different from the same labeled stuff in the UK. True or not?

I'm into Brit stuff mostly, had a Bishops Finger yesterday.

Might be having a Fuller's ESB or IPA tonight. Their bottled IPA
is for export only, in the UK I think Fuller has another IPA called
    Bengal Lancer.

Craft beer is just coming up in Germany and some British or Belgian
beer can now be found in normal supermarkets.

At least their are two pubs in my town serving British beer on tap.

The bottled stuff is the same in the USA as England, I just don't want to over pay, I like a lot of US beers, and I can drink them on draft in the UK.

I have had the first two you mention on draft in the US. Great beers.

Hopefully Ian's not fallen out of his chair, rolled into the fire, or down the hill.

Not this year, but all have been done previously.

Had one of these last night, a collaboration between Three Floyds, Mikkeller and a WI micro called Warpigs. Very nice hazy citrusy IPA, and for some reason Progeezer came to mind:

I tried it when they first came out with it a few years ago. I agree, it is just ok, and somewhere between an Guinness and an IPA is a good way to describe it.

If any of you out there are fans of The Oracle from Bell's it has been released for the first time in a couple of years. I stopped by the brewery and picked up a 6 earlier today. Hopslam tends to get higher ratings, but I think Oracle is as good, if not better.

Thanks, will check my local Total Wine Saturday, they had both Hopslam & the Cherry Stout Reserve (Actually probably some left at $ 20 + a sixer!)

Thanks to your heads-up, I was able to snag the last 6 that my local beer store had, and enjoyed one last night! Oracle v Hopslam...I think I'll just take one of each not sure which one I'd drink first, though...

Yup. I prefer The Oracle over Hopslam. Hopslam is very good, of course.

Cool, glad you got some! I was at the brewery Thursday night for a Drive By Truckers concert and they had it on tap. I only had one (I had to drive home), but fresh out of the tap was even better than in the bottle.

ND: Single Cut Beersmiths Conform Or Be Cast Out IPA. Think they've ever listened to Rush? Anyway, it's an American IPA brewed with Pink and Szechuan peppercorns. You'd expect it to have some edge. Instead, it's kind of floral. Not recommended.

    BLASPHEMY!

Actually, haven't had the Oracle yet, not available out here. But I do love the Hopslam - I love the way the honey cuts across that bitter edge.

$3 a beer is too expensive? I normally pay $20 for a Trillium 4 pack of 16oz cans.
