About 2 weeks ago I opened the last can of Heady Topper that I bought last June. It didn't taste exactly the same, but seemed only slightly different. And it was definitely cloudier than the one in the video and had not changed to that darker color. <shrug>

Unfortunately I have never had Heady Topper. Pretty much impossible to find in my neck of the woods. I will say that I have had aged Hopslam, and although it did not taste bad it was definitely different and I much prefer the fresh version.

Wednesday night I went to a KBS tapping event in Grand Rapids and had a couple snifters. 11.8% and a bit more coffee forward this year it seems. Very very good! Met two owners of Founders...very nice and down to earth. They were drinking All Day IPA though! (because they had 16 KBS tapping events this week).

Hops was originally intended to preserve beer and it does but hops does not maintain its profile over time. Especially dry hopped beer is best at the tap room, at the brewery.

I got the Guinness going tonight even though I don't do St.Paddys and Guinness is such a weak Stout. The draught version is like sex in a canoe and the "Extra Stout" version tastes like they added 'artificial bitterness' to make it seem 'tough'

Black Butte Porter is my session beer. I drink that all the time, even when it's 110 here in Tucson. Great brew!
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

I had a couple of Sam Adams Rebel Rousers to accompany my corned beef and cabbage. We fry the cabbage in olive oil and add red pepper instead of eating the boiled cabbage mush that most people are familiar with.

I went to a Mexican restaurant for lunch. I did have a shot of Jameson's when I got home though.

There is no real difference between porters and stouts, nowadays its just brewers choice of name.

About an hour west. The food at the Brew Kettle is outstanding as well. Their fish 'n' chips is the best I've had at the local pubs and breweries.
