Maybe beating the last place Red Wings isn't something to sing about, especially against the back-up goalie and then a flu-ridden Bernier after Howard was injured, but a 6-0 win looks good on the books. 4 of the goals were scored by 3 players that were previously coached by Sheldon Keefe on the Marlies.

Last run under Babcock? 6 game losing streak.
Current run under Keefe? Undefeated (I know, it's only three games).

There's still lots of hockey left this season, and things could still take a nosedive, but the team seems to be responding well to their new coach.

I'm turning into a big Andreas Johnsson fan. I liked him with the Marlies and, although he doesn't get a ton of attention, he's turning into a key player for the Leafs.

One of the pundits on TV said that the Leafs had "turned the corner."

    After 2 games.

Even I'm more realistic than that.

...and the hits just keep on coming.... Habs in a total freefall right now. When a team keeps making the same errors night after night, and your goalie seems afraid of the puck, you are in deep shit... No playoffs this year should equal the firing of Bergevin and Julien. Let us see where it goes...still plenty of hockey left...

When the Leafs hit a six game losing streak, they fired the coach...just sayin'.

Seriously, how are Bergevin and Julien both still there?

I think ownership is looking for stability so both have been given ample time to make something happen, but this is a make-or-break season. Habs cannot go 4 consecutive years without making the playoffs . There will be a lynch mob outside the Bell Centre if that occurs...

We've lost 8 in a row so the Habs took drastic measures...they sent back-up goalie Kincaid back to the minors. If that doesn't light a fire under the players asses, I don't know what will!

When I saw this I immediately thought that maybe they're adjusting cap space even further for a trade of some kind. Taylor Hall maybe?

I didn't even take it that far. I just scratched my head... Maybe you're on to something. I haven't been paying attention to the pundits in this city since this streak began...

The road trip went well. Got back to winning some games after a bad stretch, something like eight of ten. Subban has played well while Fleury has been out.

Marchessault got a natural hat trick to beat NJ so that was kinda cool.

    Hockey Confession Time:

I have not watched a single Isles game this year, only highlights, news articles, bloggy stuff etc. I 'know' whats going on, just not with my own eyes.

Its a quantum variation where the act of observation affects the outcome itself. I decided at the beginning of the year that I would not watch until February when the final sprint starts.

And lo, the team is lights out. The Isles have four games in hand on the Cr@pitals and at least two on many others, and are positioned nicely for "meaningful games" in the 2020 playoff push.

I will watch NHL Tonight's 'redzone' like coverage to catch 'live' game action as often as possible though and I get to enjoy more out of region coverage that way too.

I only watch Habs games, then catch the highlights on sports channels for the remainder of the league. I'm not a totally rabid hockey fan.

So far it has been hideous. Offensively they seem ok, but that Swiss Cheese defense is killing them.

I thought we had something with that 3-0 start...it’s agonizing.

I’m looking forward to the NHL coming to Seattle! I just hope they choose a decent name.

So wait...you're not watching until Feb. because that will effect how well the team is doing right now?

Habs starting to look like a team again. Nice road wins in NYC and Pittsburgh. Only gave up 1 goal in each game. I have a feeling the race to the playoffs is going to be very difficult in the Atlantic because I predict that the Metropolitan will produce both wild cards...but there's still a lot of hockey left to be played.
