Watched the Red Wings / Tampa opening game last night. Pretty crazy with the Red Wings twice blowing 3 point leads. It is going to be another long season, but the Wings young rookies already look good and having a healthy Tyler Bertuzzi back in the lineup scoring 4 goals right off the bat should help to make this team improve for the 3rd year in a row.

I listened to the Red Wings -Lightning game too!
Better scoring, but sketchy defense. I got hope for the Wings to improve their D soon.

On the other hand, my #2 team, The Seattle Kraken get their first win ever. Their D shut down Nashville without playing any real offense in the 3rd.

Much of the Red Wings D are young guys. I expect that some of them will develop over the course of the season.

Agree, it is cool to have 2 solid goalies going into the season.

If the amount of "BOOOOO's" equaled penalties called any time a Montreal player falls, the Habs would have about 28 power plays per home game. I so love hearing that crowd shut up.

Has the hockey season started already, because the Habs haven't showed up yet . Then again, neither have the Islanders

I was gonna say man...whats with all the goals against for your Isles? That's uncharacteristic.

The defense wonít look like this by the end of the season. Pelech and Pulock will be fine. Chara is paired with Dobson and the 44 year old is slow, so far heís slower than I thought. Dobson better grow up quick but right now the defensive side of his game leaves a bit to be desired. The 3rd pair has Mayfield, who is not a great skater, and Greene. Last year Mayfield was paired with a great skater and decent puck handler in Leddy last, and they complimented each other. His partner this year is Greene, whoís forte is blocking shots and sweeping pucks to the sides. Neither of these guys skate well or handle the puck well. Been arguing with Isles fans in the offseason that this defensive unit needs help. I donít know if itís Aho, a different kid from Bridgeport, someone from the outside or even Hickey, but having 3 non-mobile back-liners isnít going to cut it.

Did he fess up, or was he caught? If he was caught, 21 games isn't long enough. He should lose the season for lying and for putting other players and staff at risk.

I have not heard what the latest is with him and the vaccine. I know he was refusing to take it back in September, but everything has been pretty quiet lately.

I saw an article the other day (I'm sorry I can't find it now) that said there were only four active players that were unvaccinated (which assuming is true is pretty damn remarkable). It specifically listed Bertuzzi and the main goalie for the Devils (Blackwood?) as two that were unvaxxed. I don't know if they counted Kane in that group.

I wish the guy would get his shit together. Bertuzzi scored another goal last night. He is poised for a breakout year this year. Just get the damn vax already.

The kid is going to be great. The Red Wings have a lot of young talent on this team. It is going to be fun watching these guys develop over the course of the season.

They probably wont make the playoffs, but this season will be fun to watch.
