Looks that way. Which is ok because he would cost a lot of resources and his three time operated shoulder is still a risk. The gang was one game from the finals and Anders Lee is coming back. I think that leaves Zajac who was not re-signed. I wouldn't be surprised to see him signed but depends on what they do on defense and if they find a scorer, Parise or otherwise.

I hope so but they still have a problem on defense.

Funny thing about Tarasenko that you two will enjoy...in 2010 the Rangers actually drafted Dylan Macilrath when they could have drafted him

I had to look him up. Yeah the blue shirts swung and missed bad on that one. If you want to torture yourself, go thru the drafts year by year and see all the good players your team could have had. You will find great years, for example the Isles 1974 (Gillies, Trottier, Langevin and Persson) backed by terrible years 1975 (Pat Price, Richie Hansen) or recently 2012 #4 pick Griffin Reinhart. I bring him up because I just saw an article that Reinhart just signed with Belfast of the EIHL. The last two years have seen him lace up his skates in China with Kunlun Red Star of the KHL and then the Iserlohn Roosters of the DEL. At least the Isles flipped him to the Oilers for the pick that became Barzal.

When I want to torture old Ranger friends, I can always go back to the 1977 when the Isles drafted Bossy and Tonelli after the Rangers drafted DeBlois and Duguay.

Looking forward to the season although the Isles first 13 games are on the road because of the new building. It could get late very early without a decent start.

13 straight on the road as they are finishing up the new arena. Have to go 6-7 or better. If they get off to a hot start, they will be in the drivers seat

Started with Isles, looks like he's gonna end with them. Kind of doesn't say much for Aho or the other defensive kids in the minors. Unless he has a part time role that will get him ready for the playoffs. Which is what I really think it is. Otherwise it gives us a 39 and 45 year old blueliners for the regular season. I believe the Isles have built a tough tenacious team that is geared for the playoff grind. Parise, the returning Lee and especially Wahlstrom will more than cover for the loss of Eberle. Leddy's loss left a bigger hole but as a team, with Z, Dobson and perhaps Aho, they can fill it.

Just renewed both of the PE Fantasy Leagues. If you're interested in participating, we currently have one spot open in our keeper league available. If you prefer to participate in a traditional league instead, we would need two teams to join in order to keep our numbers even (a requirement for head-to-head leagues such as ours).

I posted both of the messages below in the respective leagues but I thought including them here might be helpful too...

    Traditional League:

We are down to 10 teams for this league. We may add two more teams...but only if we’re adding two. We cannot have an odd number of teams.

Roster allowances have been changed from 2 IR and 1 IR+ to 2 IR and 3 IR+.

Playoffs will reseed after each round.

Draft at 7:30 PM (CDT) on Wednesday, Oct. 6th

    Keeper League:

We are currently at 7 teams in the keeper league. If another manager is not found, the eighth team will not select any keepers, will auto draft on the 11th, and will be automanaged (save for IR and minimum goalie starts) for the season.

Roster allowances have been changed from 2 IR and 1 IR+ to 2 IR and 3 IR+.

Playoffs will reseed after each round.

Draft at 7:30 PM (CDT) on Monday, Oct. 11th
Keepers selected no later than Sunday, Oct. 10th

    Keeper positions:

    1 C
    1 RW
    1 LW
    2 D
    1 G
1 player at any position of your choice

Any charitable soul to fill me (across the pond) in on the upcoming season, please?
Cos, I couldn't find much on the official NHL site - at least not after a surface search.
I know of Seattle Expansion draft, and apparently pre-season started last Saturday (or something).

When does the official season starts and are the divisions (Scotia North, etc...) of last year are reconducted for another year?
Or are we going back to the traditional divisions?

    thx

The pre-season started around the last week of September. The regular season starts on October 12. I believe that the divisions are back to normal. I know that they are playing cross-border this season (even though the US land border is still closed to Canadians (shakes her head)), so there is no Scotia North (etc.) division.

The NHL website has not updated a lot of it's pages yet. Could be because the season hasn't started or maybe because they are anticipating Covid delays. Most teams are requiring that all players be double vaxxed to play. Those that aren't double vaxxed but are allowed to play, will not be able to cross the border. Tyler Bertuzzi, for example, will not be allowed to play any games in Canada this season because he has made the choice not to get vaccinated. Hopefully, the vaccination rules will keep the league in business this year and avoid any major delays.

It's nice to see some things returning to normal!

I have one of those with a few different players (Maurice Richard, Ted Lindsay, and Frank Mahovlich in place of Beliveau, Dionne, and Bower). Learn from my mistake and do not hang it in a spot exposed to sunlight! The signatures are largely faded on mine.
