I’ve figured out that the Leafs cannot let a game end in a 4-4 tie.

March 9 – Leafs vs. Penguins. Game ends in a 4-4 tie and Leafs lose 5-4 in shootout.
March 16 – Leafs vs. Jets. Game ends in a 4-4 tie and Leafs lose 5-4 in shootout.
March 21 – Leafs vs. Sabres. Game ends in a 4-4 tie and Leafs lose 5-4 in shootout.

    WTF???

They must be doing something right cause if the season ended today the Rangers,Islanders,Flyers and Sabres would all be out and the Maple Leafs would finish 6th in the conference right in the sweet spot due to the seeding rules as previously noted on this thread.
I know it's a little early but Leafs looking good right now.

Rangers place Halpern on waivers. I'm a little confused by this as he's been a dependable, defensive 4th line center despite lack of scoring. Could possibly be to make room for new contract??? Who knows.

All I can say is it's nice that pretty much every team that had the opportunity to pass the Rangers after their Panther failure...failed Well, except the stupid Devils

I saw this puck in the Team Store at the Air Canada Centre this afternoon. I just had to take a photo to share with you all.

It also came in a Boston edition.

Pitt just got that much harder to play against getting Brendan Morrow and Douglas Murray. Scary.

This trade deadline is going to be a busy one it seems...

Of course, since the Isles could manage only ONE goal against the hapless Panthers (the other two were empty netters); I soon expect them to sink to the bottom as well.

Heh heh heh, the "pesky" Sens stole 2 points last night. I think they had a whopping 14 shots on net, scoring 2 in regulation and then whipped ol' Marty in the shootout. Mika Zibanijad made a sick move to beat him for the winner.

Next up are the Rangers. I'll be there!

Could this be Torts' last game behind the bench? (Hey, the Bolts fired Guy Boucher after being spanked by the Sens on Saturday.)

Devils suck at the shoot out this year.

    Losing Kovalchuk doesn't help.

Losing Kovy is going to hurt the powerplay more than the shootout. He routinely plays entire powerplays.

I think they'll weather this better than losing Brodeur, though.

And then hired their AHL coach. The AHL team has been kicking a** lately, and 10 guys are just up from there.
(there's trade talk about Lecav and St.Louis going around...)

You know man, it is pretty amazing how different a team they are when he plays. The dude is like an extra defense man with the way he plays the puck.

    God I hate that guy.

Watch out we scored a shocking 5 goals tonight .....or was it just a dream

I know the Flyers were hoping it was a dream. Looks like they could just about be out of playoff contention.

Pick an excuse for the Bruins' loss vs the Habs last night...

Actually, it looks like Iggy is now a Penguin. As you can imagine I'm far from being a Flames fan but I've always respected the hell out of this guy...

I had a few fleeting thoughts of watching local team the Bulls try to break Miami's streak,,,,,,,, glad I switched to the Bruins/Canadiens. That was a damn entertaining game. Each team had 2 goal leads, only to give it up and fall behind by two goals. As much as I watch mainly western conference games, those historical eastern conference rivalries make for some intense hockey.
