Also, just heard the new Seattle's team name is going to be The Seattle Kraken. What say yous? I'm unsure ...
If true, it's a a pretty poorly kept secret--that's been rumored for years to be the name.

I think there's a lot they can do with imagery that would be pretty cool--again, if this is indeed the name, we'll see. My choice would have been the Metropolitans or Metros, the name of the Seattle team that won the Cup in 1917.

I thought I hears Sockeyes being thrown around early in the process.

And I agree...Metropolitans just makes the most sense IMO.

That would be the name of the fanbase.

In other news, the Islanders said they would happily cede the rights (and associated criticism) to the Fishsticks logo to Seattle on the condition of "no backsies".

He's having an incredible season, but I'd say Draisaitl, McDavid, Pastrnak and McKinnon lead that race right now. I knew Panarin was good, but I never knew he was THIS good. I'm most impressed with how smart he is and how well he sees the game. Not just an offensive superstar, but very responsible defensively. Money well spent here . NY Rangers haven't had a player like this in...never It's both weird and awesome.

I think it's Pastrnak and MacKinnon at the moment, if only because McDavid and Draisaitl would split the Oilers votes.

But by the criterion of being most valuable to one’s team...

Is anyone’s impact over and above his teammates greater than Panarin? MacKinnon perhaps?

Heading to the Leafs/Panthers game tonight. With Toronto in 3rd place in the division and Florida in 4th, with only two points separating them, it's an important game. GO LEAFS!

Ovechkin had a hat trick last night. He didn't take any shots the first two periods and only took five in the third.

Love him or hate him he's one special player. Best pure scorer of his generation; and one of the all-time bests.

He is awesome...one of the best one-timers I have ever seen. Plays an angry, edgy game too, never shying away from a big hit. That whole Caps team plays that way actually...fuckin hate em!

Jack Campbell is getting his first start in net tonight for the Leafs. With Andersen having so many injuries this season, I hope that Campbell proves to be a better back-up than Hutchinson has been. The bar has been set pretty low.

Bolts are looking hard at Krieder apparently, continuing the Rangers shuttle. But they don’t want to mess with the good chemistry now. And who would the Rangers want in return?

This is actually a tough one for me right now as Kreider has been playing his best hockey in a long time and he is very well liked in the locker room. He and Zibanejad are the closest of friends. Hate to mess up some pretty good mojo. I think he's their best opportunity for a good return though along with maybe Georgiev. Kreider should get a 1st and a prospect.

Honestly this is the first I'm hearing about Tampa Bay being interested. I've mostly heard Boston, Pitt, St. Louis, Colorado, Colombus and Edmonton
