Gotta love it. Bettman made the mess by wanting the Isles in the city. Didn't get that the fans in Brooklyn are mainly Ranger fans and Isles fans are in Nassau and Suffolk county. And they drive, and don't take the train etc. Also Barclays is not suited for hockey at all. All the seats behind one goal are useless because you can't see the goal. At least you get to see the SUV. Smh.
3 wins in 4 days. Break up the Isles!

Habs win a barn burner against the Caps last night. End to end action all game long...

Rangers get 4pts on their west coast trip...I'll take it! I really like watching these kids play even with all the mistakes. It's been fun hockey. This kid we got from Tampa in the McDonagh trade, Brett Howden, is impressive as hell. The future is bright and I'm a happy camper...

Kotkaniemi's first career goal. Price even leaves the net to congratulate him...

Habs / Isles in Brooklyn tonight.
So that means more Habs fans than Isles too at the arena! lol

I guess we travel well... although there are probably some of those fans who live right in NYC. One thing I have noticed about our team, we seem to have a lot of fans right in each city we play in. Old school hockey fans whose allegiance goes all the way back to the Original 6. I don't think all those banners and jerseys are Montrealers on a road trip. As for being all loud, if they're from here, they probably started to party 4 hours before the puck was dropped.

Joel Quenneville is out in Chicago.
Here's hoping that Ron Hextall is on the phone.

Quenneville's message might not have been going over as well in Chicago these days but I think he's a quality coach who will be given another opportunity elsewhere, very soon. The NHL loves to retread its coaches.

Very few of Chicago's notable struggles, if any, are because of Q.
Crazy Habs-Rangers game last night. It had a playoff feel to it. McLeod went berserker in the 2nd period. It seemed like a bonehead thing to do at the time but it was what threw the Habs off their game. They then took a series a stupid penalties and while nobody scored throughout all those power plays, it ultimately shifted the game in the Rangers favor.

It became obvious in the third that the Habs had played the night before... On that game winner, they were all just watching Pionk skate right past them. Price needs to come up with a save at that point, but he's overrated. Been saying it for a couple of seasons now.

When you watch your team, you always assess why they won or why they lost. You leave the credit to the other team unspoken. We all do it.

Have to say Habs are the early season surprise. Las Vegas proved last year that it's a team game, and you can accomplish anything if you skate fast, work your asses off, and get good goaltending.
I'm ok with Leafs start but they need to get the Nylander thing over and done with asap. The other concern is Matthews. Injury prone? Second major injury in 2 seasons. Some guys just don't have the genetics to last in such a physical game. Hope not because he's a goal scoring machine.
Habs can't win two in a row, but don't lose two in a row. Don't think that will cut it, ultimately. At least they are fun to watch right now. Domi for Galchenyuk is looking like the steal of the off season.
