I blame Wynton, what was the question?
There are only 10 types of people in the World, those who understand binary and those that don't.
Jets took on a commanding lead an dominated play for a win.
Wow, bad game from Vegas tonight. Couldn't get any momentum, couldn't even connect on passes and the two goals they got were lucky goals.
After one game(small sample size, I know) but Winnipeg seems to have Vegas number. The dream might end in this round but hey, who knows.
I won a Stanley Cup Playoffs puck tonight. Woo Hoo.

^ Way too early to even get discouraged.
Yeah...game 1's lately always seem to be lopsided. Adjustments will be made and this will turn out to be a good series...right? That said, the Jets looked awfully good. As did the Caps. I'll go out on a limb and say both series will be 1-1 going into game 3.

Fun times, indeed.
I would have been satisfied if Vegas had lost the last two games if they had tried as they really didn't do too much of that in game one. The analysts say they played much better in the last two periods of game one but I disagree a bit. Anyway.....
Nate Schmidt and Brayden Mcnabb are two "role players" who have come up big in the last two. Have you heard of this Marc-Andre Fleury guy? He's sorta, kinda good.
A friend, his Mom, put 40 bucks on Vegas to MAKE it to the Final. Not win it, just make it. I believe that's 18 grand she would win if they win just two more.
Remember that old show with Fran Tarkenton That's Incredible? CVOme on, Winnipeg scores and what do they do? Come right back and score on them. Makes me think of the much hated Cowboys of the early '90's. When they knew they had you down and you made a run at them they just stomped you on the throat.
Mixing my sports, I know, but that was the first analogy I came up with.
Stream of consciousness sort of thing. Just go with it.
One last thing. The pregame ceremonies here have got to be the goofiest ever.

Yeah it's corny as hell, but that's how it is there. I can't help but pull for those players there...it's a good story.
Tampa/Wash game is fun...Tampa up 3-2 with a couple mins left...let's go Bolts!

Sloppy play again by the Caps. This should not have gone past four.
NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF STUPID PEOPLE IN LARGE GROUPS!
Vegas is kind of becoming "America's Team" and getting a lot of press here in the Midwest. I have been to Vegas quite a few times and attended minor league hockey games there. I saw the old IHL team play out Kalamazoo Wings in the Thomas and Mack Center, and more recently saw the Las Vegas Wranglers play at the Orleans arena. I was surprised how large the attendance was and how into it the fans were. It does not surprise me a bit how well the NHL has gone over in Vegas. As for the pre-game ceremonies, I think they are great! Yea, it is corny as hell, but it is so Vegas. Plus it make for a good 5 second bit on ESPN every night.
I thought that putting a team in Vegas was the stupidest idea ever. There is so much competition for your entertainment time and $$. When my husband and I were in Vegas a few years ago, we went into a couple of sports books to check hockey odds. When we asked for the hockey sheets, we were faced with the same response in every casino. "Hockey? You mean, like, ICE hockey????" Accompanied by looks of confusion.
I've been pleasantly suprised by the response in Vegas. It will be interesting to see if the excitement continues in a few years when the novelty has worn off.
Having said all that, I'm rooting for the Jets (Go Canada!). But if the Jets are out and Vegas stays in, I'm jumping on the Vegas bandwagon.
I'm wearing an Original Six T shirt as I type, but I think it would be kind of cool for the VGK's to win it all in their first season. Has that ever happened in one of the 4 majors before?
Totally committed Bolts supporter here (have an old scouting connection to the club). Maybe it shouldn’t be 2-2 as I write this, but just wait until they find their series mojo.
I'm with you buddy...it's like pulling for the Rangers! They have been outshot and outplayed in large stretches, but they make the best of their chances and Vasilevsky has been great. Caps are a good team, but they always shoot themselves in the foot with brain farts. Be it bad penalties, bad goals, untimely passes etc...let's hope they keep up that trend!

I am watching the Golden Knights vs. The Jets. Any team named Jets I root against 'em.
I can totally dig that.

OK, it happened.
I'm in shock.
I was so wrong about the fandom that happened here but seriously, no one could have predicted they would be in the Stanley Cup Final.
Wow. Stanley Cup Final games in Vegas.

Amazing, they are by far the most successful expansion team in any sport in pro history.
While they have surpassed everybody’s expectations, I think we could have predicted they’d at least be good.
In past, pre-salary cap, expansion drafts, there were usually two teams alternately picking from the existing teams’ 15th or 16th best players. This meant that those teams had 12-18 3rd or 4th line/pairings when they started.
Vegas, otoh, got 30 ‘15th best’ players, a wealth of instant depth. Not only that but many existing teams had pending salary cap issues with their top 10 players and decided to make them available to save cap space. Of course, Vegas’ cap started from 0, so they could afford to sign a number of these players.
It’ll be interesting to see if the same process is repeated with Seattle.
Although I agree they had some advantages I don't think anyone before the season would have given them a chance to make the playoffs, much less do what they have done. They were a 500 to 1 shot in Vegas before the season started. Yes, they were able to get some higher level talent than traditional expansion teams due to cap rules these days, but it is still amazing what they have been able to do in one season.
