Most of the kids in the shots from 1970 are my generation. I was 4 in 1970!

I was thinking the same thing. I was seven in 1970, and was actually born in Manhattan not for from where a lot of these shots were taken - though it was a world away. The cars, the clothes, the shopfronts, the baby stroller - all that is exactly as I remember it. It seem like a different world now.

These pics take me back. I lived in and around NYC in the 70s, and the city was an absolute hellhole then. But, it was a happening hellhole!! Today, it's a gentrified city of museums but no culture (to paraphrase Davis Byrne). Pity....
