Interesting choice! It's probably their most thoroughly composed piece. I do dig it though and sometimes I think those first two albums when they were a sextet are my favorites. Bummer that they're oop.

If this thread doesn't get as many responses as the "New Wave Pop" one, I'll be sad.

I haven't made my list yet but I thought I'd go ahead and post to bump up the overall post count.

You people really remember all those song titles? I just play albums straight through, and rarely know what each track is called. Wouldn't have a chance to make a list like this.

That's a very well written and arranged little piece that never gets old .

I concur that about the first three TT's.

I'm a little ashamed that I didn't list any of Holdsworth's solo stuff, being the fanboy that I am. That particular track is such an odd one! I'm not crazy about the actual tune, it's kind of robotic sounding, with (what sounds like) sequencers and drum machine. But then they completely shift gears when it goes into the solo section... and I think it's one of Allan's greatest solos ever; it really tells a story! The tune is apparently about a train, which would explain the robotic, repetitive "head." I always imagine that when the solo starts, he got off of the train... and had quite an adventure at his destination, before getting back on the train afterwards.

Anyway, I'm enjoying the responses; thanks for participating, fellers!

That's from their 1984 album (had to look it up), which I've never heard. With MO, I never ventured beyond Visions of the Emerald Beyond...

OK, I'll give it a go....

Caravanserai, but not the whole album in one entry (as on those two other threads ) but in individual tracks
