Just got back from NYC last night, Words. Cannot. Express. what unique evening we spent Saturday night at the Beacon. I saw the show in Albany last year, it was fantastic but this was exceptional.

Not so amazing. I don't like her voice at all.

I'd be all over it. Love her voice.

Wow, Dave K's got it down!

Not the biggest fan of Ninet's voice, but I've got loads of respect for SW for pushing through both the flu and an American tour. Guy's a true professional.

Here's a Rolling Stone piece about The Steven Who Refused To Sing.

It's endlessly fascinating how RS has released their hate for prog:

Wilson's headlining solo debut at the Beacon was a cheerfully heroic lesson in fighting spirit (he was forced to cancel his next show in Chicago) and his truly progressive ideals in rock composition, group improvisation and emotionally authentic storytelling. Wilson is a star in a fiercely partisan, niche genre; but even without a voice, he proved here that he deserves much broader renown.
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.

My review of last week's Montreal show is in the works, but until it's done, some photos from the show.

    Ha the irony.

This reminds me--anyone ever read the DPRP's review of the Blackfield Live in NYC dvd? It might be one of the most anti-semitic music-related articles I've ever read.

No one around these parts hit the Chicago show?

Dunno if anyone else has been following the setlists, but excellently, HCE has remained Ninet's song in this post-virus world.

Also, Drag Ropes and Open Car showed up again in Mexico:
