    Progstreaming 2013 updates

    Hello, and welcome to Progstreaming 2013!

    We have added:

    * Retrospective - Lost In Perception
    * Ballo Delle Castagne - Surpassing All Other Kings
    * Moonrise - Stopover-Life
    * Bader Nana - Wormwood
    * Tusmorke - Underjordisk Tusmorke
    * Argos - Cruel Symmetry
    * Antonius Rex - Hystero Demonopathy
    * Neodyme - Le Guetteur
    * AJ Charron - Humouring Gods

    Be surprised! Some gems within these!

    Also:

    * There was a new Bit-sized Prog at Progulator at the brink of the new year: http://progulator.com/reviews/bite-s...w-year-to-you/. They give 4,5 stars to the excellent Tea Club, check it out!
    * Click a Google add every day! We receive a percentage, which keeps the site floating!
    * Buy the CDs you like, digital or physical. Some of these artists throw a party when they sell a thousand CDs, so every sell counts for them. Be supportive of your favorite genre. Don't waste time on things you don't like though.
    * Suggest new CDs for streaming to Progstreaming. Talk about it on Facebook and Twitter, and suggest Progstreaming to your friends! Use the RSS-feed, so you don't miss a single feature!

    Coming up next week: an Edison's Children-special to celebrate the one-year- anniversary of "In The Last Waking Moments". Three streams!

    Coming up really soon after that: the new La Maschera Di Cera. Can't wait to share that one, but I will have to be patient. It's stunning!

    Enjoy the music!

    I've send down a forensic team to investigate the problem. Also, our board is in negotiations with the CEO of Google. We are not as of yet aware of malware, but I'm on to it!

    I do not recall that but I wanted to play AmAndA other day using my iPhone just to lose the audio after about 10 seconds. It would never jumped to second song or move streaming forward. I ended up listening to different album though

    You can stream Progstreaming through your iPhone?

    [EDIT] Ah, very cool. I assumed it was Flash and wouldn't work. Works just fine. Fixes my 'work blocked it' problem.

    Hi there,

    We've experienced a bit of trouble with the site, but the ice is thick enough to skate on now! Now worries, just great music. Like:

    * Sailor Free - Spiritual Revolution
    * Yugen - Mirrors
    * Psycho Praxis - Echoes From The Deep
    * Pax Romana - Let All Men Know, This Is Sacred Ground
    * Aparecidos - Palitobombonhelado
    * Flower Flesh - Duck In The Box
    * Roz Vitalis - Patience Of Hope
    * Jeseter - Promena
    * Batisfera - Solar Wind, The Inner Circle

    Also:
    * Because of the recent problems we've swapped the announced Edison's Children-special. You will have that one next week.
    * First, this Tuesday, the new La Maschera Di Cera will be on the streets. It's a follow-up to a classic of the seventies. We are proud to have the international premiere of this album, which will come in Italian and English, just like the classic I've mentioned above. Check the link of their record company BTF and guess what classic that is: http://www.btf.it/the-gates-of-tomorrow.html. You don't know? Gosh, how long have you been a progfan?! You need some catchin' up!

    I'm pretty sure - though - 99% of the progfans visiting this site regularly are not familiar with the 9 new streams of today. I urge you to listen, if only for a few minutes. I'm sure you will find a surprise one out every five. Some people listen to one stream a day. Others dedicate a whole day to investigate the site (at their work, when their colleagues is free, I guess). Whatever your plan of action, make use of this, and don't let it go to waste. Before you know it, they're gone, and you've might missed out a masterpiece!

    So, onwards!

    Hi progfans around the world,

    Here we go with 2013s first masterpiece:

    * La Maschera Di Cera - The Gates Of Tomorrow, or - if you prefer the Italian version:
    * La Maschera Di Cera - Le Porte Del Domani

    About this album:
    "La Maschera di Cera 2013 studio album is a continuation of the “Felona and Sorona” concept (Le Orme, 1973), a record that is unanimously considered a masterpiece, as well as a milestone in the world progressive rock scene. (...) “Le Porte del Domani” (The Gates of Tomorrow) contains a 45-minute suite in nine parts and is released by AMS Records. The cover artwork has been made by Lanfranco, the same author of the original “Felona and Sorona” painting. “Le Porte del Domani" is printed on CD in two different Italian and English versions (the second has also a slightly different mix), but also available on LP".

    So:
    * Compare all you like. Listen to them simultaneously, if you're in a weird mood.
    * Decide which one you will want to buy. A lot of you I know will buy them both!
    * Please do share these streams any way you can, e.g. through Facebook, Twitter or just plain-old e-mail. Spread the word!

    Those of you who eagerly awaited the 3-CD Edison's Children-special featuring Marillion's Pete Trewavas, that one is postponed until next update!

    Enjoy this special!

    Frankly, it all depends on the artists and labels. I've only set up the platform, and I kinda know how to bring it to the audience (I'm in business myself, maybe that's why). When Progstreaming began two years ago, I thought maybe half of the labels/artists would 'feel' for it. But it's rather like 75%. Of course I'm pleased with this.

    Hi there!

    This week we proudly present the long-awaited Edison's Children-special, which contains the following:

    * Edison's Children - In The Last Waking Moments...
    * Edison's Children - In The First Waking Moments (the making of ItLWM)
    * Edison's Children - A Million Miles Away EP

    Also, we have two competitions running:
    * Progstreaming received 5 copies of A.J. Charron's brilliant "Humouring Gods". You can listen to this album right here: http://www.progstreaming.com/_wb/pag...mouring%20Gods. You can win a copy by telling Progstreaming how you would try to humour a god.
    * Last week we had the new La Maschera Di Cera, English and Italian. I know you've all enjoyed it, and hopefully a lot of you already placed an order. Now's your chance to win "the other" version. So send us a picture (be gentle, not too large) with the version you've bought, and if we like the picture, we'll send you the accompanying version. Sounds complicated? The Gates Of Delirium is complicated, you fool! There will be three winners at least (unless BTF and Progstreaming think the photographs are of outstanding quality, and we can't make up our minds).
    * If you're a Friend Of Progstreaming: do participate. You've already earned a 50% higher chance of winning either.
    * Want to become a F.o.P.? Donate at least 20 $ a year. To info@progstreaming.com, or use the PayPal-button on the site. Partnership with Progstreaming comes with goodies like special competitions for the fans, as well as at least one free Bandcamp-download a year.

    Speaking of free downloads...

    * Have you ever heard of "The Dream of the Magic Jongleur" by The Psychedelic Ensemble? Well, a die-hard progfan like you should, for it's a masterpiece. Our friends from Progulator giving away free downloads, right here: http://progulator.com/reviews/free-m...elic-ensemble/. Normal price: 11 $. If you don't believe it's a masterpiece, just listen to the Bandcamp right here: http://thepsychedelicensemble.bandca...magic-jongleur. Only catch: they want your e-mail, probably to spam you for future Psychedelic Ensemble-masterpieces. Well... we'll live with that, won't we?

    Enjoy the music!

    Hello again,

    This week we have no less than 10 new streams, with some nice surprises included:

    * Shadow Circus - On A Dark And Stormy Night
    * Majestic - V.O.Z.
    * Starfish64 - The Half-Life Of A Gleam (please read the note below!)
    * T - Psychoanorexia
    * Apogee - Waiting For The Challenge

    * AnVision - AstralPhase

    Some important notes:

    * The Starfish64 digital release is free to download for every Friend Of Progstreaming. If you're a Friend, e-mail us. We're quite lazy, you know.
    * You become a Friend Of Progstreaming by donating at least $ 20 to our PayPal-address (info@progstreaming.com or use the button on the site). You will receive the download of Starfish64, and by choice either a download of Freedom 2 Glide or The Tea Party. So, donate and e-mail us your choice, knowing meanwhile you'll be supporting your favorite site!
    * If you like a release, and have a Facebook-account, please click the 'like' underneath the artwork. Artists, fans, record-labels and distributors take notice. Occasional demons too!
    * Last week you could win the 'other' edition of La Maschera Di Cera. Show us a picture of the edition you've bought, and you can win the 'other' language, to complete your collection. This competition runs until Sunday!
    * Last week you could win a free CD by A.J. Charron. This competition is also still up. One e-mail is all it takes to have a good chance of winning this.
    * More free stuff? Progulator is distributing The Psychedelic Ensemble. Now this is a masterpiece. You're stupid for not responding. Here's the link: http://progulator.com/reviews/free-m...elic-ensemble/.
    * A glowing review for The Enid's latest offering "Invicta", right here: http://progulator.com/reviews/the-enid-invicta/. A new bite-sized Prog is over here: http://progulator.com/reviews/bite-s...rdano-project/. Well, at the moment it's unreadable, but I'm sure they'll handle that soon.
    * Lynx Music, known from Millenium, Moonrise and now Padre, have a brand new site. Visit them on their 15th anniversary: http://www.lynxmusic.pl/. Ordering stuff has never been that simple!

    Phew, that was lot! Tell Progstreaming if you like the releases. We like feed-back, so don't be shy.

    Hi there,

    Due to the problems we had, your beloved site was off-line for a whole week. We're back, though. You will notice that some links and a lot of buttons are still not in place, but they will resurface all soon.

    Please accept our sincerest apologies for all the troubles we might have caused last week, and thanks a million-fold for the many, many messages we received through our e-mail, Facebook, Twitter, Progressive Ears, Progarchives-forum and more.

    If the problems might maintain, contact us immediately. First empty your entire history and cache. You might be dealing with some residue from old problems.

    So, without further ado, enjoy the music!

    I got in just fine, and without dumping history, etc. Thanks for your most excellent site, and for providing us progheads with opportunities to listen to music we might not otherwise hear. Oh, and also, curse you for being culpable in adding to our want lists!

    Hello again,

Both English and Italian version of this splendid album are still on Progstreaming. The Italian version got more than 400 likes, and that's more than Marillion received a while ago!

    That's it for now. More to come soon.

    Enjoy the music!

    This looks great -- how does it work?

    A la the Spotify debates --- what percent of the advertising revenue is paid to artists & rights holders?

    Are the payments 20x, 100x, 1000x what Spotify pays, as has been pointed out would be fair?

    I read the "about us" page and some good info there, but wondering about that side of things

    An awesome new way to check out new stuff tho......

    Well, as the site is based in the Netherlands, the copyright fees go to BUMA/Stemra (http://www.bumastemra.nl/en/music-users/). I actually pay 314 euros a year, and in theory that amount gets split between the artists I stream. In theory, for to get hold of that money you need to be a member of BUMA, which actually costs the artists 30 bucks a year. I'm not making the rules! Through contracts with other copyright organizations about 25% of the artists I stream are in fact a member of BUMA.

    So, this is a legal site. Whether or not it's honest for the artists, I do have an opinion about that, as you can imagine. But to tell you the truth, some of these streams receive less than 300 actual listens (sometimes less than a few seconds), so the overall payment should be extremely low. Progstreaming is mainly for promotion, that's the way artists and labels should see it. Albums only stay at the site for 6 weeks.

    Hi there,

    5 more streams for you, one of them is a free digital release!

    * Oblivion Sun - The High Places (feat. Frank Wyatt and Stanley Whitaker (both ex-Happy The Man))
    * Steve Lukather (Toto) - Transition
    * Flora - Sei
    * Semantic Saturation - Solipsistic (feat. Virgil Donati, Andy Kuntz and Derek Sherinian)
    * Zerothehero - Nowhere (a free Bandcamp-download. Go get it!)

    Also:

    * Steve Lukather is doing a grand European solo-tour in March and April. Your chance to spot the legendary guitarhero upfront! Go check out his tourguide to see if he comes near you:
    http://www.stevelukather.net/ConcertGuide.aspx.
    * The brilliant Johannes Luley (ex-Moth Vellum) is now also available in Europe, through Just for Kicks and Beyond Rock. The album received more than a 100 likes in just a week, so do check out this absolutely gorgeous album:
    http://www.progstreaming.com/_wb/pag...er%60s%20Grove.
    * Thanks to all who've supported Progstreaming. If you want to be a sponsor of Progstreaming, Paypal 20$ or more and you will automatically become a "Friend Of Progstreaming" and you will receive a free download by choice by either Freedom 2 Glide or The Tea Club.
    * Another way to support this site and your favorite music is of course to actually buy the releases we stream. If you haven't ordered through e.g. BTF, Beyond Rock, Just for Kicks or Syn-Phonic, just try it! They are all very trustworthy.
    * Click a Google-add every day! This earns us almost a dollar a day, and that's a good portion of the costs of this site. Also, if you click an Amazon-link on our site, whatever you then buy, a percentage comes our way. So, if your about to order your Gretsch G6128T-GH George Harrison Custom Shop Tribute Duo Jet Electric Guitar with Hardshell Case or your Samsung 82 inch 820TSn-2 Touch Screen LCD Display, please think of us?
    * The final way to support the site is to tell all your friends about this great site. Keep spreading the word through Facebook and Twitter!

    Enjoy the music!
