Trying to remember a band name.....

With a new album coming out soon I am now in Bowie mood.

I remember I once borrowed an album from the library from a young band that sounded a lot like hunky dory area Bowie. It must have been early or mid nineties. the band was from the Us ( I believe California , but not sure). The singer sounded a lot like a young David Bowie. The songs were piano orientated with some orchestral moments.

I liked the album a lot but never got around to buying it. Anyone know which band this might have been?

I realize they're British, but was it Spacehog? Their album Resident Alien came out in the mid nineties and they had a definite Bowie sound going on.

No, it was a band. I am pretty sure they were American.

The lead singer also played the piano and wrote all the songs. It was very good stuff and - like I said- Very Hunky Dory/Aladin Sane-Like.

Again not American but Icehouse were very Bowie. Iva Davies is a dead ringer.
