The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off
The numbers stations on SW radio were always creepy, especially the one with the child reading in German with waltz music in the background......Cold war....bunkers....nuclear holocaust....gas masks.....I think all of that still resonates creepily with those of us of a certain age who grew up in the UK.
I remember as a kid in elementary school we'd have these periodic drills where we were instructed to get under our tables and cover our heads with our arms. I also remember that every Tuesday the city would sound an air raid alarm, that always gave me a sense of foreboding. Not necessarily creepy but just a feeling of doom.
I've heard things before where people recite numbers, just numbers, in a dispassionate manner. I don't know why but it really is creepy.
all of this creepy pales in the shadow that is me....ask anyone who has met me....

I think I thew up in my mouth after subjecting myself to the "Game Show" thread. Jesus Christ.
That game show host in the still looks like Chuck Woolery, and maybe a bit like Mr. Lucas from Are You Being Served? And maybe a young Mel Gibson.
Cold War creepiness starts around 1.50
Creepy oddities......3.29 very creepy voices......and Daleks at 10.30?
This is one of the most well known ones.....voice starts at 1.04.
Maybe not creepy as fuck...but the dream that inspired them certainly was. Just finished reworking this one: "The Lovecraft Triplets" (watercolor and ink)

The most famous - and outright legendary, in fact - case of surreal children's television here in Norway was the series Pompel & Pilt from 1969. It was essentially the work of an anarchist experimental doll's theater troupe (led by director Arne Mykle, son of author Agnar Mykle) and received commission for five episodes of unspecified narrative concerning the activities of oddball repairmen Pompel and Pilt, and, disturbingly, their acute and off-kilter encounters with insane and menacing janitor Gorgon. While the repairman couple speak in minimal tongue, the janitor gets hung up in manic and/or psychotic and nonsensical warblings which basically leads the viewer into glimpsing a sense of logical transcendence - even when very young - which is the reason why the series became object of intense discussion amongst academics within fields of child psychology and didactics. There have been several PhDs written on the subject of themes in direct relation to this series. Be sure to watch until the janitor arrives - without skipping there:
