    New Steven Wilson - 4 1/2 Out January 2016

    https://www.burningshed.com/store/st...oduct/65/7069/

"An interim release between Hand. Cannot. Erase. and his next album, Steven Wilson's 4 ½ comprises 6 tracks with a total running time of 37 minutes.

Four of the songs originated during the sessions for Hand. Cannot. Erase. and one from the recording sessions for The Raven That Refused To Sing. The final track is a new version of Don't Hate Me - a song recorded by Porcupine Tree in 1998 - based on a live recording made on the recent tour of Europe, with additional recording in the studio. The vocals on this new version are sung as a duet between Steven and Ninet Tayeb."

Back in the day that was the length of a normal full album. Auto buy for me.

I believe the last Blackfield "album" had a running time less than 37 minutes.

    Pre-order for 22nd January 2016 release.
Because why would anyone want it before, I dunno, say, December 25th to pull a random date out of thin air for no particular reason.

Looks like the new song he played at some venues on the recent tour..."My Book of Regrets"...is included on this new release. VERY cool!!! He played the song at the Grove in Anaheim, CA. So glad I was there to hear it.

But wait - there's a deluxe, hardback earbook edition!

Just kidding, but there probably will be. I ordered this right away too - it sounds like it'll be good.

No hurry. I may get it eventually, I may not. Not all his "extra session tracks" appeal to me.

Wow Swilson just can't quit. He's an energizer bunny! Always love new stuff, and always like the extras. But he's now pushing 50. I wonder if he'll ever slow down. He seems to be a workaholic. And I guess he has no more time to spend here on PE like he used to?

No, he'll release it as a vinyl-only limited edition of 4 1/2 copies. Then he'll re-issue it 5 years from now in a mondo, wallet-busting 5.1 deluxe blah blah blah at $100 a pop and the complete inventory will sell out in 2 hours.

    Hmm...
    - Recordings
    - Nil Recurring
    - The bonus tracks to The Incident

That's a pretty good track record.
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.

It would have been even better if the title was: Four. And. A. Half.

Dude! Even the 8 track, acetate cylinder and T-series normal bias cassette ?

I'll go with the blu Ray. Best audio format there is, hands down.
