    RPWL Plays Pink Floyd

Hi guys, long time no see. I did a search for this album but nothing turned up so I was wondering if anyone had received this release and what they think of both the covers and the sound quality of this CD. Thanks.

This is a live recording made from various shows. RPWL do Pink Floyd very well, and here they have, presumably, picked the best live version. The track listing is:

    Arnold Layne (5:14)
    The Embryo (17:18)
    Green is the Colour (3:23)
    Atom Heart Mother (11:33)
    Fat Old Sun (19:24)
    The Narrow Way (8:40)
Let There Be More Light (6:27)

What you don't get with RPWL is the "standard" and safe Pink Floyd songs done by just about every tribute band on the planet.

I had the fortune to see them at the start of September in Germany where they played many Floyd songs, and for the first hour nothing from Meddle onwards.

The best PF cover I have heard from RPWL is Cymballine from the Start The Fire Live album. That track is 15:00 and includes the Funky Dung section from Atom Heart Mother Suite.
Check out "Back To The River" by Riverside from the second disc of their Panic Room album. Not exactly a cover, but pretty much a major nod and wink to the opening 5 minutes of Shine On You Crazy Diamond.

Check out Opel from Stock. Immaculate and brilliant. The 5.1 is really stunning as well.
Yeah, I know, it's Barrett solo. Close enough for me.

While I appreciate (and second) the recommendations, guys, I'm actually interested in hearing from people who have bought the RPWL Plays Pink Floyd CD. So if anyone can tell me the sound quality and anything about the quality of those particular covers, I'd appreciate it.

Never heard of these before. Thanks for the tip.

I see they are presently touring Germany with The Man / The Journey - If I wouldn't get divorced, I'd be booking a flight now... Man, I hope they come over to the UK.
