Strange, I always thought the Patrick Moraz album was much later.

    1969 BAY-BEEEE

twas a fine year for groundbreaking albums taking Rock music to places it had never been before... another great influential Prog album (over a decade before the 4-letter word "Prog" was coined)

Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

    Oh...god...please...NO....not...again!!! Spock...we....must.....destroy.....this.....thread ......!!!!

But seriously, lets not get stuck again in the old idea that wacky, far out, 60s pop, psych and cinematic sounding music from Zappa, Moody Blues, Beach Boys, Kinks, Beatles, Arthur Brown, Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplane etc. was somehow progressive rock. It wasn't. It was what it was, wacky, experimental pop, and more often than not without rock instrumentation. Granted, it was a forerunner to prog rock, but it wasn't prog rock. Pink Floyd didn't release any "Prog Rock" until the new stuff on Ummagumma IMO.

Well in that case, what is your problem with this thread? Or did you just post because you felt you had to post something? You can get over yourself as well.

If you had read ALL of my post, you would have seen the following two words,:But seriously; Immediately before my text entered into the discussion. BUT if I ever do have a problem with a thread I won't need your approval or permission.

    Although experimental music
rather than prog rock per se, basil kirchins first progressive pieces for film where created in 1961, the year he returned to the UK from australia.
